Why We Like The Dura 3R Sleeping Pad

It doesn't quite matter the adventure, if it's cold and we're spending the night, the Dura 3R Sleeping Pad is what we're taking. It's built with proprietary insulation to maintain a warming temp while we sleep in sharp air. Even better is its thick, columnar design that separates us from the ground and keeps us centered atop it.

Super comfortable, packs smallish

Just used this pad over a weekend in South Louisiana for the first time. Temps were in the low 50s, and I stayed perfectly warm in a 55 degree bag. First night I inflated the pad using the Exped Widget, which seemed to max out inflation significantly lower than the provided fill bag with the Schnozzle. I'm 5' 11" , 200 lbs., and a side sleeper. I found my hips compressing the pad to the point where my hips slightly touched the ground the first night. Second night I used the inflating bag to add more air to the pad, and that made night 2 much better. Plenty of support once I filled it more. Not sure how this would handle really cold temps, but for milder climates it seems great. It packs down small enough to take on paddle trips for sure. If you're backpacking and are counting ounces, you may look elsewhere.
