Why We Like The Timberline SQ 2XT Tent
Because of cartoons and 50's camping guidebooks, A-frames will always hold a special place in our hearts, and Eureka's Timberline SQ 2XT Tent lets us take that dependable design on long treks through all sorts of weather. Eureka's SQ A-frame shape holds strong in the face of harsh winds, and the rain fly goes all the way to the ground so we can sleep soundly knowing our pillows won't be drenched in the morning. When it's nice and starry, the mesh roof offers plenty of air as well as a stunning view.

I love my new Timberline!
I was given a 2 person Timberline as a graduation present in 1984 and used it heavily until 2019 when I finally replaced it with a Timberline SQ. Although I had to replace the fly once on the old tent, the only problem was the zipper in the door, which I couldn't figure out how to fix, or else I would have gladly kept using it. That said, I love my new SQ. I especially love how much easier it is to set up, which I often have to do after dark. I also love the extra head room provided by the cross bar over the top of the frame. Although I was skeptical at first of the mostly screen sides, I have camped in it at temps below freezing and was fine. I should note also that I tried two other tents before I got the Timberline SQ, both of which made me wonder why anyone would choose anything except for a Timberline in this size category. There are just two things I would change about it if I were to do a redesign: 1) I would change the window zippers in the doors such that you can keep a triangle (of whatever size you like) open at the top. A previous reviewer made the same comment. With the current design you can adjust the size of the opening side ways, but that does not allow one to keep the wind off your body and see out the window at the same time. Also, the window doesn't tend to stay half open with the current design. It is either all or nothing. 2) I would like a better mechanism for typing back the flaps of the vestibule when it is not open. Currently there's a flap in that hangs down in the middle, which is annoying if you're trying to get in and out that end when it is wet. Not a huge problem, since I usually go in and out the other end anyway, but I would imagine one that the tent designers could figure out. 3) Although I primarily use my tent for car camping, if the same design could be made out of lighter materials, especially for the poles, it would be great for backpacking too.

Love the A-Frame design
I wanted a tent that would fit out ATV 6x10' trailer and not have to sleep in the dirt and this is perfect. Love how it sets up and the doors on each side make this easy to access. Haven't had to try it in rain yet but planned on a rain tarp anyway to keep the pine sap off. Easy set up and take down.

Spacious two person.
My granddaughter has taken up outdoor activities in college. Felt she needed a better quality tent than the college supplies. I had a Timberline 4 person years ago and familiar with Eureka quality.

Great product
Used once at the beach in 15-20 mph wind and light rain. Did great, no leaks and tent maintained it’s shape in the wind. Very happy with its performance. Only suggestion: I would prefer both ends have the vestibule facing the same direction so you can use it at either end depending on camp and wind direction.

I bought this town about a month ago for my son who is in scouts. We went camping for the weekend and it drizzled all weekend. There was not a drop of water in the tent!!!!The new design of the timberline SQ2 is awesome!

Easy set up!
I bought this tent for a recent short backpacking trip. I was pleasantly surprised about how easy it was to set up in the dark. I had watched a privately made video on YouTube ahead of time, but it turned out to be the wrong tent, though it was still fairly straight forward. I did have one pole left over (???), will have to figure that out before I use the tent again. It was a good size for me and my gear. I liked the side pocket on each corner and easy of use for the zippers. I feel comfortable sending my son with this tent on his next scout camp out.

Simply the best tent ever made
I've been using the Timberline 2 since boys scouts 40 years ago. I purchased the this tent as a replacement for a 20 year old TL2. I've put 28 nights, in all seasons, in it over than last 24 months and it is bay far the best tent I have ever owned. The simplicity of setup and the integrated vestibule make for a very easy camp experience. The weather protection is well though our and the frame is bomb-proof. Highly recommended for 1-2 persons.

Just What I Was Looking For!
I bought this tent to replace a Timberline that was purchased in 1978. BTW, that tent is still usable. My new tent was easy to set up, kept me warm and dry, and had much more interior room than my old tent. I love it for Boy Scout camping.
