As a lefty, I find it hard to lead belay with a grigri, but still want some assisted breaking, so I’ve embraced the ATC Pilots (or similar) of the world. But then I need to bring a tuber to repel. This one trick pony can replace all of your belay devices, and it does a good job of it. My only beef is that playing out slack isn’t as smooth as I would like, but I am hopeful that with more use the device will wear in a bit, or I’ll get better and more comfortable using it.

Almost the perfect belay/rappel device
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
This is a gem that does it all! It replaced my ATC and while I mostly only rappel with it, I like knowing that it can belay and rap in assisted mode in case I drop my autoblock cord or my grigri.

Versatile and Efficient

This is a really neat device, which I have found particularly useful for multipitch. I often want to bring both a grigri, for the safety when belaying either on lead or guide, and a classic tube in case i need to rap, or if i need to make an autoblocking system that can take two strands. If the route is bolted, this isn't a huge issue ? but if you also have a double rack and a backpack, it gets a little onerous to have all that weight on your harness. This device takes the place of both! I find the bite reasonably tight, and while I'm still getting used to it, paying out slack is fairly easy too. Solid, versatile device, for a reasonable price!
