Dynastar's Cham series blew freeriders out the water last year, and it's back this winter for a second go round, along with a few tweaks that make it even better. The middle child of the Cham sisters, the Cham 97 2.0 Women's Ski provides a balanced blend of hard and soft snow shredability, with a 97mm waist, underfoot camber, and moderate rocker in the tip and tail to let you float and slash through soft snow. Dynastar cut the Cham with a five-point sidecut, which allows smooth and easy turning on hardpack and in powder, and gave the tip and tail significant taper, so you don't have to fight a hooky, grabby feeling when you're tearing up deep days.
The Cham's light and energetic paulownia wood core gives it a lively and nimble feel so you can snake through trees, pop from edge to edge, and bounce off terrain features with minimal effort. Dynastar forewent metal, so the ski is light enough to take into the backcountry, but laid down a layer of fiberglass over the core for increased torsional stiffness, durability, and strength. This helps you utilize the solid bite of the full-length sidewalls to make short work of hardpack, so you can slash turns when the going gets powdery and still rail groomer turns on your way back to the lift.
