Dynafit's not just for speed touring anymore. We've known this for a while, really, but the new Chugach 32 Backpack is designed for freeriders who need to bring gear along for the ride, not rando races who need even less than the bare essentials. At 32L, it's big enough to carry gear for a full day of touring, with a large main compartment for food and layers, a padded pocket for your avy tools, and additional stashes for your helmet, goggles, and crampons. Dynafit also engineered a small pocket on the hip belt to hold a compass, inclinometer, phone, or note pad, and outfitted the Chugach with a removable shoulder-strap bottle holster, so you can have water within easy reach. It's also compatible with hydration bladders, if that's more your style.
When it's time to bootpack, you can attach your skis to the Chugach via the side compression straps for an A-frame carry or use the awesome diagonal carry system, which utilizes a strap on the bottom and a bungee-mounted hook on top for seriously easy loading and unloading. Dynafit also optimized the pack for easy ice axe hauling, so it's well suited for your more technical missions, too.
