Lux Comp 27.5in Complete Mountain Bike - Women's - 2015

The Diamondback Lux Comp 27.5in Complete Mountain Bike is built and spec'd like a deluxe XC race sled but priced to accommodate entry-level competitors or riders assembling a multi-bike quiver. Though many manufacturers approach women-specific models with a "shrink and pink" mentality, Diamondback's Devine Design indicates that it went beyond a sparkly paint job in order to ensure the Lux Comp is suitable for the competition implied by its name.

The one nod the Lux Comp makes to women-specific geometry comes in the form of a lower standover height. It still has the same steep head tube angle and long, stable chainstays as Diamondback's gender-neutral 27.5 hardtail model, so it knocks out fast singletrack and maintains that eagerness when the path points down or the trail gets playfully techy. The drivetrain is a complete Shimano Deore triple build, and it's matched with Shimano's hydraulic disc brakes for confident restraint at the ragged edge. The RockShox fork features a lockout setting for when you want to convert its 100mm of travel into pure speed, and the Kevlar-reinforced Rapid Rob tires are all too willing to accommodate.
