The Deuter Freerider Pro 28 SL Backpack gives you the versatility you need to do anything from quick laps out of bounds to full pre-dawn to after-dark backcountry tours whether you ride skis or a splitboard. In addition to multiple carry options for both rigs, this pack also includes ice-tool holders and gear loops for more technical ski-mountaineering objectives. Back panel access lets you stash your second layer inside during the ascent without having to remove your skis or board.
When you top out and get ready to drop in, just unclip your skis, get your goggles out of the internal fleece-lined pocket, remove your helmet from the carry system, and point 'em down. The Alpine System suspension moves with you so you don't feel like you're riding no-fall terrain with a wooden board strapped to your back. A separate front pocket holds all of your avalanche rescue gear just in case things go pear shaped and your partner breaks out a big slab at the worst time.
