Deuter designed the Freerider 26 Backpack from the ground up to give backcountry travelers the tools they need for big days in the mountains while still being clean and compact enough to charge big lines. The 26-liter size easily handles some extra layers, another pair of gloves, lunch, and whatever else you want to bring along. Not to mention the dedicated avalanche gear pocket for your shovel and probe. Speaking of things going wrong, do you know how to signal yes and no to a helicopter? No, well take a peak at the SOS label inside the lid for this and more internationally recognized rescue beta.
When skintrack turns to boot pack, just strap your skis or board on this pack. Whether you prefer a vertical carry or an A-frame, you're all set. Drop your water bladder in the back-panel compartment to keep yourself well hydrated on the trip up. When you top out, grab the removable foam pad to give yourself a comfy place to sit and grab a snack before dropping in. When it's finally time to lay in some fresh tracks, the Deuter Alpine Back System supports your kit while moving with your body, so you don't feel like you're riding with a board strapped to your back.
