13 inches of powder? Check. Savory snacks for maximum caloric enrichment? Check. Beacon, shovel, probe? Check, check, and check. It looks like you have (almost) everything you need for a pow-hunting tour, so load it all into the last piece of key gear—the Deuter Freerider 24 SL Backpack—strap on your skis or board, and get your powder fix.
This low-profile pack carries everything you need for a full day of touring, with a well-thought design to keep you happy on transitions and organized when you're adjusting your layers. Straps on the front and sides support either a diagonal or A-frame ski carry system, while two large straps across the front secure a snowboard. A front compartment grants easy access to your shovel and probe in the event of an emergency, too, so you'll be ready for every eventuality when you're seeking out perfect turns. When it's time to circle up for lunch, a removable sitting mat gives you a place to pop a squat so you don't end up with a soggy bottom when it's time to skin up take another run.
