Performance under pressure.
The CW-X Compression Support Sock support your calf muscle, ankles, and arches with gradual compression to help your legs recover quickly after a long trek into the woods. A stretchy toe box eliminates that annoying feeling of your socks constricting your toes, and anatomically-correct left and right construction ensures the most dialed fit. And unlike your stifling cotton knee-highs, these socks rock mesh vents that allow heat to move away from the surface of your foot so your feet stay cool.

- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I bought these for use post surgery. I had patellar tendon repair and after two weeks they removed the TED hose they put on. After removing these there was significant swelling in the ankle foot and lower calf area. I used these to provide compression as well as circulation to move the swelling out. Within about 6 hours my foot ankle and calf had returned to their normal size.
Once I'm healthy again I can't wait to try these out for mountain biking. I have a Men's size 11 foot and the Large worked perfectly.
Compression and comfort?!?

You read it right! The CW-X brand holds a sturdy reputation of compression equipment and this humble reviewer would heartily agree. I first bought a Medium Sized pair of these bad boys (or girls) and slid them on before crushing some single track and immediately noticed superior full length support (including the ankles) that is often missing from the compression sleeves.
The CW-X Compression support socks provide solid arch support, calf support and don't feel like some medieval torture implement. The mix of numerous fabrics I have neither time nor energy to pronounce nor spell wick moisture from the calves and keep the odor at bay.
The drawback here is that the arch likes to pill up, though I haven't noticed any issues with durability or wear over the lifetime of the sock. The footbed wicks decently but, there is a little to e desired when a 5 mile run produces wet feet.
Overall, I'd recommend this to fellow runners looking for a durable, sleek, and comfortable run.
I am a size 6 foot so I purchased the size Small, they fit great! Just put the socks on the same way you put pantyhose on, this makes it a lot easier. I use these for recovery, I backpack a lot so I will take these in my pack and once we get to camp, I'll put them out and wear them around. They are lightweight and very breathable. My toes don't feel crunched in them at all. Very comfortable!
The socks are a very comfortable recovery tool after endurance exercise. After wearing the socks, my calves feel great.
Don't Leave Home Without 'Em!
Can't live without these compression socks -- work wonders BOTH for recovery after long trail runs and when I'm on my feet all day for work. I will soon own several pair!!
