Soft material, true to size, simple and all around comfortable to wear. This is a great layering piece or can be worn by itself as a casual piece. The zipper is smooth and there is a generous amount of neck room when zipped up all the way.

Gave it as a gift to my daughter for Christmas. Zipper broke right away. Was a stiff fabric. I thought it was the real Columbia but I was wrong. Had to go and pay alot more for the real thing to make it up to her. I learned a lesson.

Backcountry.com does not sell faux name-brand product. Our product comes straight from the manufacturer. I own the hooded and this version of the jacket, both of which are soft, super comfortable and have NEVER given me the problems you speak of. It sounds to me like you got a defective jacket.
Perfect

Seems warm - not bulky. I have used these for years but usually after a year the zipper pull breaks away. They should do upgrade. Otherwise it washes very nice and the material holds up.
Just ok

Just received my Columbia fleece. I usually wear a medium, but had ordered a large because of the reviews that say they run smaller. It fits a bit big, very baggy. Wish I had ordered a medium. The material is thinner than expected. Nice style though.
very disapointing

I literally wore this twice, and when I went to put it on for the third wear, the zipper broke as I was zippering it. I never even had a chance to wash it. The size runs small too.
Runs very small

The jacket I ordered in my usual size wasn't even close to fitting.

I agree. I just got my jacket and it is about 2 sizes too small. I am returning it

I agree. It does run small. My mom bought me one for Christmas in a small which is what I usually wear in womens, often with some extra room, and I had to exchange it for a medium.

I'm 5'2" and wear a 10Petite, what size should I get? The chart said I should get a medium.

Warm, Lightweight, Fast-Drying

Considering its thickness, I found this fleece is surprisingly lightweight and fast-drying, making it a great choice for traveling. I've used it in Antarctica and the Norwegian mountains, and it has held up well and kept me warm on the ship or in the cabin. (When I'm more active, I usually have to switch to a lighter fleece.) It is a bit bulky, so it took up a bit of space in my pack when I wasn't wearing it.
I'm 5'3, 128lbs, 34"chest, and the Small fits fine over a light- to mid-weight base.

I bought this jacket in black for my mom who is a picky lady and she loved it. She usually wears XL size but I bought her a L size and it fits her perfectly, so I guess it runs a bit big.
The black color we got is more like a very dark gray color but really nice as well.
Love this jacket

I love this jacket. I got a medium in the color Iceberg, it is a beautiful baby blue color. The medium fits me perfectly (I am 5'6 @ 130lbs). It is very warm and will be prefect for the chilly fall days and the even colder winter days. The only reason I did not give this item 5 stars is because the fleece could be a little softer.
Nice Jacket!

My mom is one picky lady. She absolutely loves these jackets. She has at least five. She keeps losing weight but still likes the large it keeps her warm all year long. The material is amazing she throws it in the washer and dryer and it holds it's shape and color. I sometimes sneak in her closet and wear one. Mother;s day is coming so I'am back to buy her a different color.
