Burton's Genesis Re:Flex Snowboard Binding is the all-mountain solution for high-octane riders who want power without sacrificing plushness. The all-new two-piece Kickback Hammock highback automatically wraps the back of your boot for a secure, slop-free fit that offers precision heelside response without over-tightening your ankle strap.
  • New Zero-Lean Kickback Hammock highback features a suspension-like two-piece design that automatically hugs your boot for next-level comfort and response
  • Re:Flex hinged disc allows more natural tip-to-tail board flex for a consistent feel with no 'dead' spots under your feet
  • Short fiberglass/nylon composite for a lightweight, durable, mid-flexing feel
  • Re:Flex FullBED cushioning offers full-length impact protection, with B3 Gel heel pods to prevent bruises on harsh flat landings
  • React ankle strap for quick response with no pressure points
  • Gettagrip Capstrap pulls your boot back into the heel cup for a secure fit without requiring toenail-crushing strap tension
  • Compatible with all mounting patterns (Burton Channel, Burton 3D, and traditional 4-hole)

I haven't riden these bindings because I returned them as soon as I took one out of the box. I wanted to replace my union forces for the sole reason that I don't like the toe strap. The burtons, while extreme light, and I mean REALLY REALLY LIGHT, felt very flimsy and cheap. Especially compared to the unions. Im not sure if I'm a fan of the hammock idea either but aside from speculation and feeling them I can't comment on their performance. There was a major design flaw that I can't believe burton even let get to production on these bindings. If you want to set any forward lean, you have to move the high-back all the way back to the closest position to the heel loop, otherwise the adjusting stopper gets jammed between the high-back and heel loop. After moving the highback back to this position I also noticed that when I folded it down, the screws which secured the highjack into place would turn and wiggle. Also the ratchets on my unions feel much more solid. I am going to stick with my forces I think and maybe swap out the toe strap,

So you didn't like the way they looked without even trying them? I'm sorry, but your review doesn't help at all!

Cartels. if you want some thing battle tested. Or, don't judge, forum shakas. i own both. cartels lighter. forums tougher, and my preferred. and i agree w/ Nar. you didn't even strap in.

I could not decide between the Genesis and the Union SL bindings, so I bought both and tried them out. I loved the performance of the SLs, but the straps were not as comfortable as i had hoped...and the toe straps stuck really badly. In contrast, the Genesis were easily the most comfortable bindings I have ever ridden. The straps are a dream. At first, I didn't like the responsiveness, but after you ride them a couple days you get a feel for it. You don't feel that pressure or twitchiness that you get in a super responsive binding. It is more subtle, but at the same time, it does exactly what you want. I love these bindings.

Bought these bindings for my husband as an Xmas gift. He absolutely loved them and said they were the best bindings he has ever ridden (he's been riding for 20 years). Unfortunately, within two months and 10 days of riding, there is a giant crack down the high back hammock and can no longer be ridden. My husband is only 165lbs and hadn't even had a chance to take them back country! We have returned the bindings and will be switching back to his 10 year old Burton Customs. Hopefully, burton will hit the drawing board again and give us something more durable in a couple of years.

How do these compare to the Prophecy...

How do these compare to the Prophecy bindings that they replaced? Obviously the highback is different, but anything different with the base or the materials in general? Weight? Flexibility without referring to the "flex chart." I know they are both a 6.

These bindings ride AMAZING.
Incredibly light and responsive without being overbearing.
The hiback is really responsive, but you don't even feel it at all. Your boot cradles in there perfectly and when you go to turn, it's just there and responds instantly.

Can't say enough good about the Genesis.
