zipper poorly glued

Very nice materials very easy to ride or hike. I likes the front large pocket mesh. Unfotunately, on my 1st trip the zipper glue failed completely and the material on one side peeled off as a banana. Maybe it happened bc it was sitting on a beach in full sun for 3+ hours? It's the last time I buy a pack without the sown zipper. After 3+ weeks still trying to get a refund from Black Diamond (bought from a store they run). So far they offered store credit...
