Full disclosure, I didn't use it in the field. I was hoping for a sun hoodie and liked the quarter zip. But when it arrived I discovered it was more of a "slick" material, less breathable and moisture-wicking than I hoped. I realized in retrospect it was probably designed as a light layer for a variety of weather including mist and a light chill, not the hot summer sun in the desert and eastern sierras. It wasn't the feel and use case that I wanted, so I returned it.

As advertised

It's as advertised though I've worn for just one climb but well fit and comfortable.

I'm quite pleased with this, not too warm while good sun protection.

New favorite sun hoody

I haven't had this hoody long, but it's already one of my favorite pieces for hiking/outdoor activities. This hoody is extremely light and breathable so I never feel overheated. It's a super comfortable material as well to wear directly against the skin. When I work up a sweat it does a good job of wicking and doesn't get soaked. The hood is also very comfy and fits over a hat. I also like the quarter zip so that you can air out a little more if needed. If you can afford it it's well worth it!

Most Used Layer

Recently purchased my second Alpenglow Pro Hoody to help extend the life of my first. After three years of very frequent use for most outdoor activities (hiking, running, climbing, light base layer for touring, etc), my first is holding up pretty well. Some signs of wear after years of heavy use (multiple wears per week) - one or two very small holes, some stains, and lost some of its stretch, but totally reasonable for a soft good with as much use as it has seen. Highly recommend.

Excellent product

I have several of these hoodies and really like them a lot. Lightweight, quick-drying, and comfortable all day. As someone who gets sunburns, even on a cloudy day, I appreciate what it provides for protection. Would love to see the yellow color come back as it’s perfect for long days out on search and rescue missions.

This is the best hoodie I have ever put on. I really like the fit and the venting keeps you cool on the hot and humid days here in South Florida
