The Berghaus Men's The Frendo Pant is a serious three-layer Gore-Tex shell pant for the worst storm days and above treeline skiing. Taking its name from the intimidating Frendo Spur that looms high above Chamonix, the Frendo Pant is well-suited for objectives of this sort due to a waterproof, breathable Gore-Tex membrane, burly Keprotec kick patches, and generous outer thigh vents that are capable of quickly dumping heat during the ascent.
Specifically designed for ski mountaineering and backcountry touring, the Frendo houses a host of skier-friendly features that will keep you comfortable on both the boot pack and skintrack. Starting with the cuffs, the pants have an internal stretch gaiter that fits easily over ski boots, while a lower leg zip can be easily opened to make adjustments to boots before the descent. The adjustable suspenders keep the pants up, and a zip-to- pant compatible design allows them to be attached to the Frendo jacket for a snow-tight layering system. When the temperatures require an extra midlayer, or two, the relaxed fit of the Frendo makes adding those layers not only possible, but comfortable, too. All zippers on the Frendo are water resistant, making these pants well-equipped to deal with ski mountaineering objectives and mellow days spent below treeline.
