From mid-summer summit bids to spring ski descents, Bergans' Helium Women's 55 Backpack will get you through almost any mountain mission you embark on. When stable, spring snow takes you to high summits, the Helium's top-loading design will make carrying a shovel and probe possible, but will also leave some extra room for extra layers and bivy gear when reaching the summit requires you to spend a night on the mountain. Ski straps, trekking pole loops, and an ice axe carry system allows the Helium to carry any additional gear you might need to access your line, and the top lid leaves room free for topo maps, snacks, and a headlamp, just in case you're hoofing it back to camp or the car after dark.

And when summer peak-bagging missions lure you to the high country, the Helium's adjustable torso length will make sure the pack rides comfortably on the trail, while foam and mesh padding along the hips, back, and shoulder harness keep the pack as comfortable as possible when packing enough gear and food to keep you on the mountain for two days. The lid can be removed when you're packing light for the final summit bid, and the main compartment of the pack is protected by a spindrift collar to keep your gear dry in the face of falling snow and light right. Bergans even threw in a large zippered front access point for easy access to gear and added a hydration bladder-compatible sleeve for easy drinking while you're on the move.
