Solid everyday pant

The stretch canvas is great, a heavier slightly warmer version of what I have found in Kuhl, and FlyLow, more like Truewerk. Nice for east coast fall through spring, maybe a little more than I would want during a humid summer, but mine haven't faced a summer yet. They do run large, and the hidden pocket needs to be tacked so I don't need to adjust it every time I pull them up. Great cut, with the stretch fabric, they allow free and easy movement. They fit nicely with shoes, and easily pull over my boots. They look nice enough to wear to a casual dinner out, but I don't worry about wearing them when it's time for the chainsaw to come out for trail work.

Love these pants! I strictly wear athletic wear jeans so I was hesitant at first to order these as they were a straight leg pant. These fit amazingly well, plenty of room. I wish these came in other colors since I have the Grey and Green already. I will be keeping an eye out for these!

I like the stretchy canvas material a lot but I didn't keep these for a couple of reasons. The main one was the drop is too large. They are accurately listed as a medium rise but I found that I had to jack them up in order to not have them sagging in the crotch—I would prefer about 2" less of a drop. This was annoying enough that I returned them. I did size down as suggested by others (I would say they fit like vanity-sized jeans, which is most mainstream brands, so a size 32 is probably actually 34"). The length was good for me but might be a touch long for some who don't like to cuff though they could be easily hemmed if needed. I like the idea of the zip pocket but the execution has two issues: it's very hard to zip on that seam where it crosses the thick stitching of multiple fabric panels and the zipper is pretty small and didn't look like it would hold up to the amount of pull I needed to put on it. It also created an extra interior pocket that I had to reach down my leg to flatten out and stop from bunching every time I pulled them up, which was annoying. I would probably place this pocket elsewhere (like down the leg) or construct it differently. If this model came in a button fly (my personal preference) with a smaller drop and thigh vs. zip sip pocket placement instead, I'd buy a few.

These things were e-normous. 36 waist fit more like a 38. Construction looked OK but it's always hard to tell without wearing and washing a few times, especially for Backcountry-branded stuff where quality control varies widely.

Love these pants - huge fan. The fit, the texture, the breathability, the weight, the stretch. Worn them almost every day for a month and they are fantastic. Hidden pockets usually add bulk, but the pocket on these is very sleek ... don't even notice it's there until you need it. The waist does stretch a little, so if you're between sizes, size down.

These pants are really sweet. They fit great, the fabric is awesome. They feel like canvas but at they same time they're very stretchy. I will likely wear these all the time, so I hope that they last for a while. I might have to order another pair in a different color before they disappear. Bravo, Backcountry!
