Description

We were going to make the goat part scratch-and-sniff, but then we thought twice.

La Nina caused a warm Pacific storm to drop some sierra cement on your hill. Once the weather warms up the next day, reach for the Backcountry Backside Warm Temp Wax and prep the bases of your skis or board right. Adorned with the lovable Backcountry.com goat logo, this environmentally-friendly bar of wax will make your ride faster than a cheetah on a sugar rush. Not too shabby, right?
  • Editor's Note: Backcountry.com wax is made right here in the USA in collaboration with Purl Wax.

Hardest wax I've ever worked with...

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I agree with everything in ohe3820935's review: The wax goes on thick and cools hard as a rock. When scraping it comes off like chunks of plastic rather than typical fluffy flakes. I had to bust out the metal scraper and apply a lot of elbow grease.

It provided a fast enough ride but no different from other waxes I've used which are easier to work with.

not worth the $

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Even at the current $5 a bar for this stuff (or the $3 sale price I've seen before), I wouldn't buy it. It doesn't smell that great, it's hard to apply, and it doesn't scrape well. It's fine going down the hill, just your average wax, but applying it is a hassle, it never gets smooth under the iron and it's all crusty when you scrape it. I'd go with the cheap toko stuff instead, it glides on like a dream under the iron, easy to scrape.

Nothing special, just your average wax. Love the goat design and it comes with a goat sticker too!

Worked fine.

For the price this is an adequate wax for some mid season touch ups. It lasted a pretty good while as I was able to wax a pair of skis per brick with this stuff. Was easy enough to work with and gave me back speed on the flats and runouts for sure.
