Description

All-mountain performance, perfected.

Your explanation for ditching your ski buddies lies in your Atomic Alibi Skis. With these all-mountain skis on your feet, it's hard to resist popping into the trees for a little bit of soft snow and then dashing ahead to pounce on fresh corduroy before it's all skied out. Designed with a titanium backbone, the Alibi delivers a super-smooth ride in all conditions, so of course you're not going to hold back.

  • All-mountain rockered profile features a 20% rockered tip, 15% rockered tail, and 65% camber underfoot for increased floatation in soft snow and crud, and ease of turn initiation and edging on hardpack
  • A wood core from tip to tail supplies solid stability on snow, powerful rebound, maximizes ski-to-snow contact, and filters vibrations for a smooth ride
  • Step Down Sidewall construction consists of durable sidewall construction below the binding, which ensures optimum absorption
  • Titanium Backbone technology incorporates a shaped sheet of titanium above the wood core which helps dampen vibrations and provide an exceptionally smooth ride
  • Unique shaped layer of titanium allows for effortless turning thanks to consistent rigidity and performance
  • 98mm waist offers a versatile all-mountain ski that handles well on groomers, tight techy terrain, bumps, and in soft snow
  • A twin progressive sidecut gives hook-free stability at the top of the turn with exceptional edgehold and acceleration out of the turn

After testing Hardsides, Katanas, Rituals, I tried these and fell in love instantly. I had preferred the Rituals over anything else I tried, but these have less chatter on the groomers and seem way faster then everything I skied on. Great for skiing the trees.

My first impression of the Alibi was "crap this thing is light". I loved how nimble these planks were and my first run off the lift i felt confident enough to really charge and try to find their speed limit. For how light they were I was impressed how they handled the chopped up crud that I skied in the morning. Surprisingly they weren't vibrating all over the place when hitting the leftover off piste in the afternoon. As the snow got softer, then trees became extremely fun to bounce around in. The 15% tail rocker allowed my to pivot quickly and shoot through tight spaces. I defiantly prefer a wider ski for fresh but the Alibi handled 8+ with plenty of float. The tips never dove and I could maintain a neutral/forward stance even in some of the deeper stashes. It railed hard on the groomers and the tails were stiff enough to follow all the way through any turn radius without any pre-release. Overall I was surprised and real stoked on how the Alibi performed.

It sounds like you really liked these skis. Why only 4/5 stars? Did you also ski the Rituals? Can you offer a comparison? Thanks.

I loved them. I unfortunately haven't skied the Ritual for a comparison. As far as I know they have the same rocker profile as the Alibi. They are just 103 underfoot and that's the only main difference I believe. The reason I only gave them 4 stars is because I'm a fan of fatter, more playful boards for drops and jibbing around the mountain. I had a real hard time going with my TST over the Alibi though because the Alibi just handled everything so well. I felt super confident right off the chair.
