I started playboating a couple years ago and noticed that my bulkier rescue PFD that I usually use for guiding and creek boating was kind of getting in the way. I purchased the Astral YTV as a more low profile lifejacket just for use in my playboat, and it really hit the spot. I barely even know it's there. It fits like a glove, is super low profile, and still has plenty of space for essentials in the side pockets. I'll be buying it again and again!

The YTV is easily my favorite life jacket. I use it for SUP when I'm paddling the Puget Sound, and is especially useful when I get further than swimming distance from the shore. It's super low profile and the most comfortable life jacket I've owned. I also appreciate the extra range of motion I get with this jacket, there's no extra frills or bulk. For anyone who appreciates minimalism, this is your PFD. Pro tip: there's a pocket inside on the back panel to hold your phone. Just get a water proof case and you're good to go.

The E-YTV is a super simple vest that is easy to put on and adjust. It stays in place exceptionally well and does not ride up when I swim or paddle, and has good flotation when I swim. The recycled shell material on the fabric has a unique look and feel, and I LOVE the soil tan color. This is a versatile and high performance lifejacket. Highly recommend.

This PFD is amazing, and the color is even better in person. It's a versatile type V PFD, which is awesome because it does not feel super bulky while wearing, but it has the most floatation. This color is exclusive to Backcountry so get it while you can.
