Altra took inspiration from one of the most rocky, rugged mountains in Utah's Wasatch Range when it designed the Men's Lone Peak 2.5 Trail Running Shoe. Altra made this shoe burly enough for tough hundred-milers like the Wasatch 100, but the Lone Peak is just as perfect for your everyday trail runs. An upgrade over the Lone Peak 2.0, the 2.5 offers improved upper durability, lighter weight, and a slightly firmer midsole.
Like Altra's entire line of running shoes, the Lone Peak features a foot-shaped profile and a Zero Drop design. The Zero Drop platform encourages a more natural, low-impact strike for properly-aligned body posture and strengthened lower leg muscles. And unlike the narrow toe boxes of most running shoes, the Footshape toe box allows room for your toes to spread out, simultaneously improving comfort and balance.
What makes the Lone Peak stand out from the rest of Altra's line, though, is its aggressiveness. A toothy carbon rubber TrailClaw outsole digs into a variety of terrain, with lugs designed for both uphill and downhill traction, while sandwiched StoneGuard technology keeps out rocks and debris. Full cushioning keeps your foot comfortable whether you're tackling gnarly peaks or just doing a bit of training in the rugged hills behind your house.
