Good price point when on sale

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

Bought this to put over my patio furniture. After one summer in a fairly shaded yard the material degraded a hole ripped in the top, useless now. I would expect better quality from a company like Alps Mountain Engineering, maybe that's why it was on sale. I really liked it when it was in working order, very clean and simple design. Will be looking for another brand that makes higher quality products.

Lots of poles, solid shade/bug tent

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I brought this tent on a recent three night camping trip and it did a great job protecting me from mosquitos and generally keeping other bugs out. I appreciated the center door zipper and ability to stake one side so that it's easier to open/close. Tent was spacious enough to walk all the way around the picnic table. It doesn't have a strap on the ground, like some other models. The strap can be a tripping hazard so I appreciated that it's not there, though having the strap may be helpful in windy conditions. My site wasn't windy so I'm not sure how this would hold up (probably need to add more stakes and guylines). Lots of poles, but it went up pretty quickly considering we didn't review any instructions before starting! Tent did keep out a bit of light rain on our last morning, though it likely wouldn't hold up to a lot of rain (but you don't need a shade tent if it's raining). We were able to get everything back in the bag, but it was snug, the bag could be a big larger to make it easier. Overall, solid purchase.
