Rounding up pow cows is a job for a fatter ski, but if you want to shred the open range, chase the deer and the antelope through the trees, and lay out your bedroll on some fresh corduroy, 4FRNT's Gaucho is the ski for you. A killer one-ski quiver for right coast rippers or a post-storm board for west coasters, the Gaucho features a fiberglass-laminated and seriously dense wood core that's been beefed up with a sheet of Titanal for a ridiculously stable and damp ride that'll lend new credence to the shredder's maxim, "when in doubt, point it out." Traditional camber underfoot keeps things as stable as a table, but the tip and tail have been fancified with a little bit of rocker to improve the Gaucho's ability to smooth out chop and float through soft stuff.
The Gaucho's not a light AT ski by any means, but it's not as heavy as you might expect, thanks in large part to the hybrid semi-cap construction that eliminates the need for burly, full-length sidewalls and increases nimbleness and maneuverability without sacrificing edge hold or durability. 4FRNT also hooked this cowboy up with a tapered tip and tail, which move the contact points towards the middle of the ski to give you a shorter turn radius and the ability to carve down the fall line and make looser, surfier turns when you stumble into a deep pocket of cold-smoke pow.
