Why We Like The New Balance Fresh Foam X Hierro Mid Wide Hiking Shoe
No, hiking boots don't need to be heavy or made with brown leather—the New Balance Fresh Foam X Hierro Mid Hiking Boot is lightweight and trail ready. The synthetic uppers are lightweight and well ventilated for comfort while the midsoles have stolen the Fresh Foam X cushioning from New Balance running shoes to give the Hierro a light and cushy ride. We like this boot's wide size and love its premium Vibram Megagrip outsoles that let us take on dry or wet trails with confidence.

Excellent purchase
These waterproof boots are fantastic, fit is wonderful and support is great. I love the Vibram soul. But definitely purchase again.

Very good light hiker but not perfect
I've found this mid-height hiking shoe to be a very good light hiker, with a stiff but cushioned sole (important to me) and generally comfortable, although there is some thick folding and tightness at the tongue and lacing area. Careful lacing -- loosed a bit in the right spot -- has solved it so far. The shoes are light, comfortable and breathable for a summer hike or other outdoor activities.

Wow are these great !
I got these as I sometimes struggle to walk long distances for work. I ordered a size 8, as the site suggested a size larger than usual and they were spot on. If I describe the feeling of them, as like wearing a pair of trainers that support not only the souls of my feet, but also my ankles, but at the same giving me confidence. They are also so very light you can wear them in the house, like slippers lol. I have worn them every day for 4 days and have cleaned them with a damp cloth, to keep looking preen. Get some, you will not be disapointed. PT

Solid hiking shoe
lightweight but provides good stability on rough trails

Not the best NB product
Comfortable, but fairly roughly finished behind the laced area when compared with my other NB trail shoes. As such laces need to be left very loose rendering the high top design pointless.

Another great NB product.
Ordered a half size larger and fit was perfect. Very comfortable and stable in even the roughest terrain. Great product!

A very practical shoe, aside from the laces.
Very good shoe. It is nice and rugged, good for a variety of outdoor situations, I use it for tractor work and whatnot. However, I do not like the laces that come with the shoe, they come undone very easily no matter how well I tie them.
