No one actually sleeps without moving, and it's never fun to wake up on the cold and uncomfortable ground, so get some shuteye on the Klymit Static V Sleeping Pad. It's nearly two feet wide, offering room to wiggle, and it features dynamic side rails to keep campings from rolling off the pad while they dream. The V-chamber design is optimized to keep you comfortable and warm with the minimum amount of material, too, so the Static V weighs just about one pound and compresses to the size of a water bottle for easy packing.

Worked well for bikepacking event
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
- Height:
- 5' 9"
I needed a lightweight, packable sleeping pad for a bikepacking race, in temps between 35F and 60F. I used it with a SOLR bivvy bag and a down jacket/pants. I found this pad to be sturdy. I used it directly on the ground (no tent) and it didn't get scratched or torn. I also got drenched on my trip, and was able to dry it out pretty quickly using a bathroom hand dryer. By morning it was completely dry. I wish it was a bit easier to pack, but the thicker material was definitely more comfortable than some of its lighter counterparts. My favorite sleeping pad is still an accordion style because I find it to be a little more comfortable for side sleeping. I was surprised how quickly/easily this pad could blow up. I also liked using this with Klymit inflatable pillow. It was long and wide enough too so that I stayed on the pad all night.

Didn't even last one night
I purchased this sleeping pad in 2023 at my local Atmosphere store since I hoped the baffle structure would be more comfortable to sleep on, and it was certainly easier to inflate than my previous sleeping mat. I have no idea whether it would actually be more comfortable than my Thermarest, as the first night I used it camping in Jasper I woke up half on the ground thanks to a slow leak. I had to re-inflate it several times a night during the trip, and I've never been able to find any puncture or the source of the leak so my best guess is a faulty seam somewhere. Very disappointing quality, and I guess it's back to my old Thermarest in the future...

Great pad
I’ve been using this pad over the last couple of warmer seasons, and it works well. Pretty light and is almost instantly inflated with a rechargeable pump, like five seconds.

Works well. Tough and packs
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Works well. Tough and packs small. When flipping the valve to inflate be sure it is flipped all the way or it will leak a bit.

When they don't break, they are great
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've owned a number of these. They're compact - easy to pack in the car - and comfortable for the size. But, they have all broken down - usually a slow deflation - after 10+ uses. I've never been able to locate the leak and patch it. I will say the replacement policy has been good, I contact the company and they replace it.

Total fail!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First time use while backpacking, it failed horribly. Did not hold air for even five minutes without even sitting on it. Basically slept on the ground for three days.

Hole after one field use
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Unfortunately a hole formed after just one field use. I’m very careful with my gear and take good care of it… this didn’t hold up for military use. Had high hopes for it as it was comfortable.
