Reign Knickers

Suit up for an early season day on singletrack with unpredictable conditions in the Zoic Reign Knickers. These lightweight, stretchy knickers add a few inches of coverage compared to your go-to baggies, which makes them ideal for cooler spring and fall rides. Plus, their breathable DuraFlex construction won't leave you dripping in sweat after your first climb of the day.

Understanding you can't sacrifice freedom of movement for added coverage, Zoic gave the Reign a roomy, relaxed fit, complete with articulated knees and a Fushion Gusset inseam to prevent seat hang-ups. The tag-free interior means irritating flaps of fabric won't interrupt your flow, and a sturdy zipper fly keeps the waistband in place. And seeing the need to carry lots of stuff on the trail, the Reign has a plethora of cargo pockets, as well as a microfiber wipe for cleaning smudged shades on the trail.

  • Retire your trail baggies for these knickers in cooler seasons
  • Breathable fabric wicks moisture when you're working hard
  • Relaxed fit provides ample freedom and flex on the trail
  • Wealth of cargo pockets keep your stuff safe

Run larger than most bike apparel

I received a pair of Large a year ago. I've worn them a lot in the cooler temps. I have longer legs, (34) and most knickers are just long shorts when peddling, but these actually stay below the knees. I am a big butted 34/34 pant, 200lbs, and these knickers fit perfectly in Large. The fabric is surprisingly thin but has not significantly abraded in all of my use. Comments by others that the back outer pockets should not be on bike pants etc, have not borne out; the back pockets remained intact through dozens of rides averaging 15 miles ea. What I like is light weight, stretchiness, the storage and the redundant fasteners at the waist. Had never heard of this brand but now I'm a believer.

Should Season Suggestion

Ride with just short bibs under in 40-50 degree weather. Keep the mud and trail muck off you and reasonable warmth in. Able to ride with knee pads comfortably positioned. Cool for up hill climbs and warm on the descents and provide rash gaurd/mud guard.

Preferred MTB short

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

Love these shorts for trail rides as they are lightweight and have lots of pockets. I like the over the knee fit because they keep my knee pads in place. Belt loops are another nice touch as well as deep pockets. Wore my first pair for about 2 and a half seasons before they eventually ripped during a crash and ended up buying another pair!

Do these come with a liner?

Just what I was looking ...

Another excellent piece from Zoic! Simple design with a number of really useful features: just the right number of pockets, diamond gusset, hidden drawstrings and the cuffs and waist, two buttons + Velcro secures the waistband above the fly and useable belt loops. A heads up: the hook part of the Velcro is aggressive (?) and will do a number on any Lycra it contacts.

Light fabric flaps around

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer
Fit:
Runs large

These are OK. Although well made, the fabric feels too light to me and too baggy. They feel like pajamas. They flap around a lot when I ride, which I really don't care for. In comparison I much prefer the feel and function of the Club Ride products such as the Crush, Pipeline, etc so the Zoic Reign are gathering dust in the closet.

Have ridden three times with these knickers and are very happy with them, comfortable and moisture wicking. Note that these don't have padding in them. Great price when on sale. Would buy again.

These a great knickers, they protect your knees from crashes, and keep you a little more protected on slightly cooler days. Awesome!

Well thought out

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Fit:
True to size

Bought these for my wife in Teal, mens small and she loves them. They fit her great , she really hates the way womens MTB clothing is cut to fit. This is a well thought out 3/4 length pant that covers the top of your pads and she loves the look on and off the bike

Perfect Hiking Pants

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer
Fit:
True to size

Love these pants! For me, when it's a little humid/hot out; I don't like necessarily like hiking in pants, nor do I like shorts, so this is the perfect combo for me. You can call them manpris if you want, but I call them three-quarter pants to make myself feel more secure about wearing them, lol! But I love the extra pockets on the side for my extra gear and also having the option to either zip or velcro. I have had these pants for going on 3 years and have purchased 2 other pairs so I can have a variety of colors. They're by far my favorite hiking pants because they're so durable, versatile and can take a beating. For sizing purposes, I'm 6' 0" and 185 lbs with a typical 34" waist and a Large fits me perfect. Not too tight that they are uncomfortable and definitely by no means too loose that they're going to fall off. So if you like the look of the old three-quarter or as those that are jealous of us say; the manpri pant, and you can handle it... then buy them, you won't regret it!

Do these have drawstrings or something similar to cinch the cuffs below the knees?

They do have a draw string for the waist and there is elastic draw strings in the cuffs.
