Great boots

I am loving these boots so far. Very lightweight which is much appreciated when wearing a size 13. Break in period took very little time in comparison to other boots I've had. These boots are holding up great to the rigors of tree work and I have been very impressed so far, but time will tell as far as longevity. Trudging around in the snow has not been an issue either, they seem waterproof to me.

Water repellency is a joke, leather is not hydrophobic at all, water gets in between the Gortex membrane and the leather upper, letting water sit there getting soaked into the leather, and making your toes freeze on a cold wet day. Design on heel outsole rubber is weak/soft and very little of it to last. If you are heavy on the heel, you will be replacing the outsole within a month or two. But my main issue is the water repellency of the leather upper not being waterproof at all and just depending on the gortex inner liner to stop it from letting all the water sit there in between, it just SUCKS.
