Tundra 45 Cooler

Stop dealing with cheap coolers that break, leak, and let you down at the worst possible times. The Yeti Tundra 45 Cooler is heavily insulated, UV-resistant, and damn-near bombproof, making it perfect for everything from days on the lake or beach to camping and hunting trips. This model is the ideal size for hauling enough wares for an individual or storing food for a small crew on weekend trips. Extreme insulation keeps ice frozen for days, and its bear-tested design is virtually indestructible, meaning it's up for any adventure.

Between its extra-thick Fatwall design, PermaFrost insulation, and ColdLock gasket, you can be sure that you'll still have ice after a few days under the mid-summer sun. Rotomolded construction ensures it can withstand long hauls into the wilderness and survive falls from truck beds, and the T-Rex heavy-duty rubber latches, military-grade DoubleHaul handles, and NeverFail hinge system won't let you down no matter how tough the going gets. Barefoot non-slip feet keep the cooler from sliding around on boat decks and truck beds, and AnchorPoint tie-down slots allow extra security for rougher trips.

  • Burly build and incredible insulation for weekend trips
  • PermaFrost insulation holds ice for days
  • ColdLock gasket and InterLock lid lock in cold and seal out heat
  • DoubleHaul handles made from military-grade rope
  • BearFoot non-slip feet keeps cooler in place

Perfect Size

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

This Yeti 45 is the perfect size. I was looking something that could fit better in my car trunk for road trips. The 50 was too tall and bulky and the 35 didn't hold enough. The 45 is the perfect size. It is slightly shorter than the 50 but a little wider. It fit in my trunk no problem. For keeping things cold we went on a 3 day weekend trip and our food stay nice and cold with no issues. I invested in the Yeti Ice packs because they were wide and slender and didn't take too much space. Those packs did a great job at keeping things cool for 3 days. I recommend getting those as well. If you are concerned about the cost I will say Yeti's are worth it! I would recommend this cooler to anyone!

Yeti Tundra 45

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

Keep it short and sweet. I’ve dropped it off a cliff (~30ft), dropped it out of a car (~45mph), dropped it into rapids (just class IIIs, don’t worry), portaged it a half mile (that one sucked), and shooed a few too many bears away from it. You can’t kill a yeti. I thought it was a marketing ruse, but you just cannot kill these things. Oh yeah, and it keeps stuff cold. From bacon to celebratory beers to ice cream, yeah I said ice cream, you can get at least a full 24 hours to 4.75 full days (that’s drunk estimate) without refilling. The more ice the longer, and colder, everything will stay. And did I mention they literally cannot break?

As promised!

showed up as promised, two days. Awesome product. Keeps food as cold and as long as claimed.

This review is so vanilla. If it isn't just useless, it's also fake.

No better cooler than this one

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

This cooler is next level. I used it on a long road / camp trip and used only a few frozen waterbottles as ice and it kept everything nice and cold several days. If your looking for the best cooler look no more, this is it!

This is Your Cooler

Familiarity:

What isn't there to say about this beast of a cooler. Took this on a four day trip down south Utah through the National Parks and has blown me out the water. We packed in some eggs, bacon, sausages, bunch of veggies etc with the Yeti Blue Ice packs, the cold stuck around for a solid 3 nights. Most of the meat was gone, but the cooler held the four days of fresh veggies for sure! Not too bulky and fits perfectly in the back of the car. You can say this Yeti si pretty cool.

Weak Long Car Camping

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

Prior to our revelation of owning this product, weak long car trips required all shelf stable or backpacker meals because none of our coolers would last past day two in 100 degree weather sitting in the back of our SUV. Now, however, we can enjoy cold drinks and fresh foods for up to 7 days on a road trip. Fully loaded with ice, this will last on average 5-7 days depending on conditions. With 5 being a pretty reliable number even stashed in the heat of our vehicle while soaking up sun at the lakeside or roaming the desert. Definitely worth the extra cash for a quality item.

Only the best from Yeti

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I got this cooler for our camping trips and it has been amazing. It keeps cold. It is a little hefty once filled, but totally worth it. Good size for a couple and a friend, but probably too small for a family of 4 or more. We had it packed to the brim for a weekend trip. Highly recommend!

Legitimately a great investment. I camp a lot in the desert and at higher temperatures, so it's nice to have a cold beverage to come back to after a day of hiking.

Perfect for Weekends

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

As you’ve heard, Yeti’s insulation is no joke. This cooler will keep food (and beer!) cold for days without adding more ice even on trips down to the desert. I use this one for weekend trips because it is light enough to pick up alone easily. It also fits in cars like Subarus well unlike some of the larger options. I spend a lot of time in the summer doing river trips and it fits perfect in my raft. With how rugged it is, I can drag it around campsites, sit and stand on it, use it as a cutting board, and not have to worry about animals getting in to it. For two people, it is also great for week long trips, but when I need to pack for more people for longer periods of time I do like using the Yeti 65 or larger.

Love that I can keep ice for days but hate to pick it up. Overall it is a great cooler.

Best Cooler EVER

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I have used several times, and I`m very impressed. My Yeti cooler is always the last cooler to have ice left over at the end of a camping trip! I even left it in the back of my car when it was over 100 degrees out side for over 4 hours and it still had ice in it. Just amazing!

The Best!

Familiarity:

This is by far the best cooler I've ever owned. Holds ice for days compared to other brands. It is a little on the heavy side and in some cases may take 2 people to carry it.

Can't go wrong

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

One of my favorite purchases. I've used this cooler for so many scenarios and it has never disappointed me. The amount of time it keeps ice varies a lot based on the outside conditions and ability to keep out of the sun but I've seen it everywhere from 2 day to 7 days. The only limitation is the weight. It can get pretty heavy so it takes two people if you are going to carry it any meaningful distance.

I like cool beverages........

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

If you are a fan of G-love and the special sauce and like cool beverages then this cooler and for that matter any other cooler from Yeti will not let you down. Kind of heavy for a cooler by itself and a tad heavy when drinks and ice are in there but also keeps your snacks, drinks, food, etc super cold all weekend long and beyond. Very durable and can take a beating if needed. Doubles as a seat at the campground, it can hold your weight if you need to stand on it too. Tundra's are built to last.

keeps the beers crispier, longer

Familiarity:

These coolers are fantastic. I keep a milk jug with water in the freezer and the night before i throw it in the cooler to make it cold before i pack it. once they're cold, they stay cold

Fantastic

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

These coolers are top of the line, as long as you are on top of keeping your ice packs frozen and making sure not to leave it sitting in a hot car for a few days you're golden. This is the perfect road trip, fishing, adventure, tailgating and all around cooler you will want to have. The 45 L size is perfect for road trips with frequent stops for refueling or weekend adventures. I would up your size to a 65L If you are looking for something that will be able to handle a few more beverages or food for the extra day or two.
