My Go-To

I've picked up several of these shirts at this point and I always find myself reaching for them first. I love riding in merino- warm on chillier days but still cool when the temps start to rise. The material is super soft too, not your old itchy wool. The fit is great too- the extra length in the back to help cover up when you are in a riding position is clutch. They aren't heavily branded either, so I won't feel weird wearing this when I'm not on my Yeti. Oh, they make great winter base layers too!

The description says a relaxed fit but it seems to run small and tight through the body. I would recommend sizing up when you order.

Can't beat wool

This isn't the lightest wool shirt out there. I have a Kuhl which is much thinner that I use for running. That said, for being where I am in the mountains, this is the perfect riding weight. It can be mid 50's in the morning, get up to mid 70's by the time I'm finished, and this will have been the only thing on my top for those few hours. Wool is great at keeping in warmth, and when it's time to sweat, you can't beat it either. If these go on sale, I'll pick up a couple of more. They'll be great base layers in the winter as well.
