    Clever girl.

The Raptor is the quick-and-easy bike rack. You don’t have to pull your bike’s front wheel off to mount it, so there’s no need for adapters or a separate component to hold the front wheel. The Raptor is also aerodynamic to reduce wind noise and minimally affect gas mileage, and it’s compatible with just about any crossbar on the market.

    no worries here

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This thing is super stable when set up correctly. I bomb on the beach with this thing and my 29er on top with no issues. Only bad thing is how high your bike is when going off the beaten path and you have to worry about low limbs, but hey that's the trade off that you don't have to remove the front wheel when mounting it.

Yakima Raptor Aero Upright Bike Mount

I bought this because it was most similar to the one I used prior which worked very well. However, I ordered two of them and each came in a different color. The Yakima decal on one is white while the other is red. Also, the tabs on the tire fastener on each are different colors: one set red and one gray. This doesn't effect the performance just overall aesthetic.

      great for multiple wheel sizes

Not many racks on the market can accommodate fatbike, 29er, 27.5, 26, 700c, or 24 inch wheels no problems at all (minus using longer wheel straps for tha fat bike). Really solid rack, I still prefer the front loader but we specifically purchased this for the fat bike.

        Good no frills mount

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Easy to load and has worked well for both road and mountain bikes. Very easy installation.

It may seem obvious but if you've got a tall car/suv and you're short this will be hard for you to load your bike. Just keep that in mind.

        Good no frills mount

        Kind of disappointed.

It does the job hold your bike and was easy to put together and install. However first day of use the red handle to the Center stabilizing bar clamps broke internally and kept twisting in circles. I had to apply allot of pressure for the screws to engage and twist to open the clamps. Luckily Yakima like always was awesome and sent me a new piece within a week. But overall this rack just doesn't seem to be up to par with other Yakima products I use. It just seems a little off and kind of cheap, I think its the center stabilizing clamp that sketches me out . I ended up ordering a Thule Big Mouth bike mount that also uses a center stabilizing clamp arm that seems allot more durable and strong as well as easy open and close.

        Meh...does the job sorta

This is a great, inexpensive option if you don't want to take your front wheel off. That being said, from what I've seen, most factory racks are slightly curved. As such, once you mount this and stick a bike on it, the bike leans away from the center of the vehicle. This won't happen if you have Thule or Yakima cross bars. Additionally, the front wheel wobbles significantly at freeway speeds, as well as the frame to some degree. There is less wobble with a mountain bike than a road bike. For the price though and durability, I would go with something a little more stable.
