Taking your bikes with you on your last-minute weekend getaway is too amazing an experience to be spoiled by the hassle of a sub-standard hitch or rear rack. But it often is. Folding the bikes half-way down, struggling to hoist coolers or gear from the passenger door to the back, or having to take the bikes off to access your cargo area are all huge mood killers. With its innovative design, the Yakima Fullswing keeps your adventure headed in the right direction. Turn the safety knob, pull the red pin, and your bikes effortlessly swivel from the center to the side of the car, fully freeing access to your cargo area without the hassle of removing even one bike.
With a capacity of up to four bikes and a total of 150lb, the Fullswing is ready to hold your road, gravel, or mountain bikes and Yakima’s Zipstrips securely affix to all types of bikes. The Fullswing installs without tools to your 2in receiver hitch and is locked in place with the SpeedKnob. Integrated locking cables deter potential thieves while you duck into a convenience store for cooler ice.

- Q & A
Just isn't fit for purpose
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
I was really hopeful for this bike rack as I had heard great things about Yakima and the idea of a full swing was great, but depending on your needs I would pick a different rack. Full suspension bikes and ladies' frames do no fit on the rack without buying the additional frame adapter due to the size of the resting bar and where the zipstrips need to go. Additionally 4 larger bikes is extremely difficult to fit if not impossible. I would suggest a hold-up style if you are going to have varying frames on your rack as you will quickly find this a frustrating purchase (and you may go past the 30 days to return it before you find this out as I did)!
Would this work for a Toyota Rav 4 with the rear tire on the back. There doesn't seem to be any clearance between the back of the car & the carrier.
I have four full suspension mountain bikes. I am concerned the rear suspension will interfere with the arm support when carrying the bikes and don't want to buy four Yakima TubeTop Crossbar Adapters. Will the bikes sit on the carrying arms ok without adapters? Thank you!
Hey David - It will really depend on the shape of the top tubes of your bikes. I would highly recommend you consider a tray-style rack like the Yakima FourTimer Hitch Rack (Item #YAK000V) or Thule T2 Classic (Item #THU003U) with add-on. I use the T2 for my full suspension mountain bikes. Feel free to contact me directly with any additional questions. - Kyle L. - Expert Gearhead
