Helium 3.0 Carabiner

The Helium Collection consists of Wild Country's lightest carabiners, and the Helium 3.0 Carabiner marks the third generation of Heliums. Unlike most wire gates, the Helium has a snag-free gate similar to solid gates with keylock noses. Wild Country hot-forged it in an I-Beam shape to reduce weight as much as possible without inhibiting overall strength. The result is a solid climbing carabiner that weighs a little over an ounce.

Best biner by a large margin

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

Still bought a bunch despite those colors... By far the easiest handling and most fun to use biner I have found. Worth the price. Gate action is superb. Super light with a very satisfying positive click. Easiest biner to clip a rope into. Great for both racking and alpine draws. 2 downsides. 1. Fat nose makes it hard to do things like unlock an atc in guide mode. 2. The colors. For the love of god please fix this. The colors are super desaturated in real life and only the silver biner matches any other piece of gear. Best biner but is one of there worst looking. How cruel!

This is my new favorite carabiner for racking cams. Weighs roughly 14g heavier than a BD MiniWire (making it about 37% heavier), but that difference is outweighed by the larger, easier to handle size, the slightly larger gate opening, and the bent gate shape. Comes in all the colors you'd need for your rack.

Lightest & Best Handling Trad Carabiner

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

For its size, this really is the lightest and best handling carabiner for trad and sport climbing. My first priority is to lighten my rack, starting with my collection of carabiners. It's a splurge to fill your rack with "color-coded" Helium biners, but considering how long they will last, it is a worthwhile investment. And for my rack of light weight locking carabiners, I am a longtime devotee of the highly-rated "Petzl Attache 3D Screw-Lock."

My favorite "feel"

Hard to put into words why I like these so much, they just feel the best to clip and they handle really nicely.

One of the best wiregate carabiners ever made. The only detractors is the wide nose that doesn’t fit very well when clipping pitons. Everything else is fantastic. Wide gate, great strength and light!

Good size for gloved use. I love the snag free nose, but wish it was just a bit narrower for getting into tight spots like chains or crowded bolt hangers.
