    Backwoods Snowboard

The aptly named Weston Backwoods Snowboard is a pow and tight tree destroyer for riders who love pointing it down pow fields or tight tree runs but also riding more technical big mountain lines as well. This versatility is achieved by taking a typical directional powder board shape with a wider nose, narrow tail, and set back stance and throwing in a stiffer than expected flex. This shape drops the tail for excellent float in deep pow while providing the stability needed to rail hard turns on bigger faces.

To further add to the prowess of the Backwoods it is bent into a rocker camber rocker profile. The camber section stretches between the inserts and combines with a subtle rocker section in the tail and a much more pronounced rocker section out to the tip. This combination allows you to rail hard turns and transfer a lot of energy to your edges when you need to while also boosting float and control in deep untouched snow so that you can enjoy every turn you make all day.

    • Snowboard for ripping fun pow fields, tight trees, and big lines
    • Directional shape holds an edge and floats exceptionally well
    • Medium flex blends powder control with powerful stability on edge
    • Short camber section and pronounced rocker floats and edges well
    • Poplar and bamboo core mixes sustainability and rideability
    • Durable polymide topsheet sheds snow to keep you from bogging down
    • Easily repairable sintered base keeps you cruising and gliding
    • Item #WST000Q

    Cut Hard and Float Fast

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

The Weston Backwoods was made for POWDER! I was fortunate enough to test this thing on a day in the backcountry as well as on a semi-decent hard pack day at the resort. I was so impressed at how hard this thing carved while keeping me on top of some seriously deep snow. It wasn't quite the relief on the back leg that you find in a swallowtail but offered much greater versatility on hardpack conditions. Overall, this is one my new favorite all around versatile boards but absolutely needs to be in my quiver for those deep days. 5/5 stars, would buy again.

The Backwoods 157 was an excellent choice. The nimble float is great for Colorado varying snow density. The nose never drops below the safety line allowing for consistent charging. When I went to Canada it was excellent from trees to wide open full speed powder. Pintails are so much fun!!!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

After being snowboard tester for outlets like Transworld and Backcountry Mag, I found the Backwoods and it blew my mind. It has been my daily driver for the past three seasons, and I’ve ridden every where from the tight trees of Northern Vermont, to the Fjords of Iceland, to the Crested Butte Backcountry.

It’s rare to find a board that truly does everything well, but this board thrives in all conditions. It’s big rockered nose and tapered directional shape make this board surfy and fun in pow, while the camber between the feet and carbon stringers throughout mean this board is just as comfortable in steeps, variable conditions, and laying trenches on groomers as it is on deep days.

What™’s more is Weston has a reputation for building bombproof boards that can take a beating. Being on the east coast, I tend to be hard on my boards, hitting off rocks, and other snow sharks regularly. Other companies boards I have chewed up and spit out broken in less than a season, not the backwoods, still going strong after three seasons of abuse.

On closing, I’™ve recommended this board to a ton of my friends, and the response is always the same. “That board is incredible.”

    The Perfect Snowboard.

I bought this board for powder after reading tons of reviews and talking to buds. I was pleasantly surprised at how fun it is on groomers too? this thing rips! so fast edge to edge, fun playful flex and when you hit pow it just floats like a dream. I love that that they stuck to camber underfoot so i can still really dig in the edge and it feels good at high speed. Really should be an all-mtn board not powder IMO because it really is versatile, maybe not a park deck but if you just want to slay pow and the whole mtn is your park get this board!! Heard they were doing a carbon for next season, i gotta see that! super durable topsheet too, they use some kind of grippy texture like a truck bed liner? way better than slick lacquer on on most boards

    Great in pow and groomers

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Love this board! I've ridden this board in anything from fresh chord to knee deep pow, and it holds its own. Floats through pow effortlessly, handles cliff drops like a boss, and is quick and nimble. The nose plows through powder without a problem! On groomers it rips turns and will hold an edge as long as you want to ride it out! All in all this is a fantastic board. If you're looking for a good time, hit up the backwoods!

    Weston Backwoods

Heard great things about this board. It’s unique and shreds both the groomers while I am making my way to the Pow and grinds tight around narrow Tree slopes finding that line that no one has hit. Enormous speed on Flats. Love this board!!

      Float, Carve, and Charge

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

The Backwoods is a lot of fun. It has a great profile and it is fun on the soft stuff as well as groomers. The camber profile is great and in powder the nose floats very well while still being a good performing carving board on firm snow. The flex is nice and stiff to cut down on chatter and charge through chunder and its still soft enough to be a bit playful and fun. The build quality of the board is evident and i like the overall aesthetic of the backwoods as well as pretty much every board in the Weston line. I rode a Jones hovercraft for a few years and the backwoods reminds me a lot of that board, lots of fun and great float with confidence instilling stiffness and performance.
