We're giddy over how everything about the Weston Japow Splitboard is tailored to a powder rider's delight, from the surfy swallowtail to the wider-yet-lighter nose that encourages keeping your tip up in the deep, fluffy stuff. Carbon in the swallowtail adds long-lasting durability, and there are carbon additives in the base to make it Weston's fastest ride.
We love that Weston also reinforced the sidewalls and metal edges to ensure an easy time on the uphill; the tip has an extra-large steel reinforcement for extra beefiness where it counts. The poplar and bamboo wood core has an eco-friendly top sheet that sheds all the powder gathered on your board during the uphill and downhill. Karakoram UltraClips compress the halves together for solid ride just in case it's bluebird for your entire trip to Japan, and you're forced to ride groomers.

Awesome pow board
- Familiarity:

I was very excited to pick up the Japow this season. It is my first swallow tail pow board so I was interested to see how it would ride. It definitely lives up to the hype. Effortless float, turns on a dime, and does surprisingly well in non-powder conditions. I’m 5’8 185lbs and sized up to a 169 and I’m glad I did. Don’t be scared of going long, it only makes it better. I’ll be grabbing my Japow for deep days which I hope are always plentiful.

I'm 5'4 and 125 lbs and love this board in powder - it's floaty, chargy and super stable! I love that I can land effortlessly. The cool shape is a nice bonus :) I rode the 154, which is the tallest board I ever rode and loved it in pow!

I have owned this splitboard for a few years now and only slight changes have been made to it, notably the skins now. It used to be a pain but Weston now makes precut skins for this and it fits like a glove, there is now a notch for the tail clip and in the nose as well. The Weston precut skins are a must for this splitboard. This split really excels on super DEEP days in the backcountry, you can really take it on all types of angles but if you are in a area where the angles are mellow and it is deep, you can count on the Japow to get you out. I size up just a tad with the swallow-tail, I usually ride a 156 in my resort deck but go to a 159 on this. This turns pretty well in the trees too, I have taken this on steeper angles and super deep snow and it does really well. Email me if you have any questions!

If your looking for a board that floats in the deepest of powder look no further. This board is amazing. I have had some of my deepest days on this board and it surpassed all my expectations. Highly recommend.

Its been DEEEP here in the San Juans during the beginning of the New Year. The AR event has dropped multiple feet in the mountains making for a sketchy snowpack. This board makes floating down those lower angle, less avalanche prone slopes super fun! I got a bigger size this year because I found with my pack and touring gear a 154 was just slightly too small for me (5'10 150lbs) I got a 159 and I maybe could have even sized up one more. With the shortened swallowtail it makes ripping turns really easily compared to a similar length traditional board. It tours pretty well, though I do notice clacking my tails slightly more due to the shape. The new Weston precut skins are so sweet for this board, which in years past has been challenging to find a perfect fit. 100% would recommend this board to add to your quiver, I've been on it all season so far and who knows when I'll switch!

One of the best boards I've owned to date. Very surf/ skate feeling due to the fish tail which is exactly what I was looking for. Great stand alone board to ride every day or a perfect compliment to add to your quiver. I've ridden the Japow in thigh deep powder and on groomers in the resort. The board performs amazingly in all conditions.
