Alpine expeditions require this kind of quality.
Western Mountaineering designed its Men's SnøJack Down Parka to make alpine expeditions feel like a walk in the park. Okay, there's really no such thing as a walk in the park when you're on that kind of an adventure, facing muscle-burning heights and ridiculously harsh winds that try to blow you off this planet, but at least the WindStopper shell prevents those blustery blizzards from sneaking through to your baselayers. As far as insulation goes, the 850-fill goose down adds magnificent warmth without adding excess weight to your trek. And Western Mountaineering integrated quilted panels under the arms for unbeatable agility in such a puffy down parka.
A longer cut and a drop seat increases the SnøJack's coverage across your body so you don't expose any skin to seriously frigid temperatures. Its insulated hood cinches tightly across your head so it doesn't end up acting like a parachute from the strong gusts of wind. Draft tubes encompass both the front and back of the main zipper to keep those howling winds out. Both the cuffs and waist seal out the cold and retain all that wonderful warmth. The hand-warmer pockets are insulated, and the internal pockets stretch out to hold a surprising amount of gear.

Superior design, materials and construction. Great loft, toasty warm. Pockets deep & in the right place, very good hood. Internal stash pockets hold extra gear. Have worn this out in snowstorms to -35c with a mid-weight shirt, no problem... perfect coat for Canadian Rockies winters, or harsh conditions anywhere. Buy with confidence... pricey but worth it.
