The bears have it figured out.

Not only is the Western Mountaineering Kodiak Gore WindStopper Sleeping Bag big enough to fit a bear-sized camper comfortably, but it's also warm enough to keep one hibernating all night long. Constructed with just over 30-ounces of lightweight, 850-fill goose down insulation (complete with seven-inch loft), this bag assures a toasty night's sleep for backpackers looking to cut weight when adventuring in the frosty outdoors. Not to mention, the Gore Windstopper fabric, combined with the down-filled draft tube, prevents frigid, howling winds from piercing your cozy slumber. And when you rouse from a dreamy night's sleep in the morning, toss your bag into the included stuff sack, easily store it in your pack, and hit the trail towards your next site.

If you are someone who refuses to let unfavorable conditions slow you down this bag is for you. I very seldom use a tent when mountaineering. This often leaves me very exposed to harsh conditions. The Gore Windstopper technology keeps even the most powerful gusts of wind or snow from disrupting my slumber. This is the essential part of your kit. In cold conditions, an unexpected dip could cost you your life. I am confident that this bag could ward off hypothermia. Best features - The hood design allows you to seal your warmth in. There is an extra fold of down surrounding the opening that works wonders. all you need is a balaclava and say goodbye to tenting in winter conditions. good pull cords for "full mummy mode" - Reinforced fabric down the length of the zipper. Keeps the zipper from snagging on the inner fabric. -made in USA by hand not machine

This bag is extremely well-made, like I'll never be able to buy another brand ever again. You always read WM reviews and people all rave about them and they were 100% RIGHT to rave thusly. The details are impeccable, the windstopper fabric is supple and smooth to the touch, it weighs the same as my 30 degree bag from another brand and yet here we are, with this amazing bag. Since it's so wide I bet you could add a quilt to the inside and add another 10-15 degrees to it, should the need arise for an even more hardcore bag. I had a life-threatening experience with an unexpected dip and a lesser quality bag years ago, but I have absolute confidence that this will never happen in a WM bag. Spend good money on something that saves your life! I'm going to Wyoming this Thanksgiving- I'll report back with a better review. Thank you, Western Mountaineering!
