Feel what the MicroLite hubbub is all about.

The people at Western Mountaineering are pretty proud of their Caribou MF 35 Degree Down Sleeping Bag, with its MicroLite XP breathable microfiber yarn that's densely woven to create a high-thread-count material that naturally fends off moisture. Since the fabric's weave is largely responsible for its weather-resistance, you don't have to worry about it wearing off, washing out, or de-laminating. A DWR coating enhances this water resistance, but without sacrificing the bag's remarkable breathability. All that tech protects the 850-fill down, which stays lofty for toasty warmth. This box-baffle mummy bag is cut wider for broader shoulders and a more comfortable fit. It also features a breathable taffeta lining for friction-free comfort and mobility. Weighing in at a mere pound and a quarter, this is Western Mountaineering's lightest-weight Microfiber Series bag, ideal for summers spent hiking in the mountains or touring the country on two wheels.

Love this bag. I can unzip it on warm nights in the desert and use like a quilt because it doesn't have a full hood. Or zip up and be comfortable in the 30s. Packs so small.and is so light. Perfect for summer Uintas, desert trips, hut trips and anything else where it isn't getting too cold.

Great LW Bag!

Wanted a bag I could go backpacking with in the summer or use as a down blanket for hut trips. Works great for both. Can't beat the quality of WM down and materials. Highly recommended!

This is the 3 season bag I've waited for

I just got this bag and am very impressed with it. I'm 5'9" and got the 6 foot size with left zipper. The material is soft yet seems durable, it compresses very small. Its a roomy bag and I think the temp rating is conservative. It got down to 30 deg the one night and I was plenty warm without additional layering. I also slept with it in the 50s with zipper unzipped partially and wasn't overheated. The one thing I didn't like was that you do have to be a little careful with the zipper as it snags easily. This is going to be my go to bag for spring thru fall, you can't beat the warmth to weight ratio and Made in the USA!

Great Bag

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Amazing bag. Stitching and build are perfect. Super light. Definitely a summer bag at about the thickness of a down comforter. Extra room in the shoulders is great for guys. Beautifully built. Shipping and service by Backcountry is spot on as always.

I ordered this bag and I would like to know approximately what size dry bag would be suggested for storing inside? Thanks.

Your picture of Western Mountaineering Caribou MF Sleeping shows a wrong sleeping bag. My Caribou does not look any thing like this. Caribou has square saw-through stitching. The picture shows continuous baffle. The Caribu does not have the draft tube which shows in your picture. The color should be much darker blue.

I'm not sure how the size of the bag is measured (internal dimension?) I'm 170cm, and rather slim. In terms of height, will I fit into the 6ft bag comfortably? Or should I consider the 6ft 6 in bag? Thks!

Hi there, You would fit comfortably in the 6ft bag! It will give you a little extra room so you aren't fit in there too tight, but not too much extra room so it creates dead cold air. Please feel free to contact me with any further questions, kweiser@backcountry.com !

Great advice from Kayla! I brought the Caribou for a trek in Nepal, I had room to wear layering when it's too cold (base layer top & bottom + down jacket & pants). Perfect if you want a versatile layering system to keep sleeping bag packed size & weight down.
