    Tybee FG IM 2-Piece Paddle

Rip currents, exposed reefs, and rising inlet tides require quick thinking and paddling, which the two-piece Werner Tybee FG IM Paddle provides with its high-angle design and adjustable feather angle. This aggressive, ocean-worthy design provides a powerful catch and stroke, yielding efficient forward momentum for faster maneuvering, bracing, and rolling.
    • Smart-View Adjustable Ferrule uses a low-profile button and internal gear system to shift the feather angle in 15-degree increments to match your paddle stroke
    • Nylon blades are reinforced with fiberglass to ensure durability and easy paddling in rivers, lakes, and bays
    • Medium-surface-area blades feature a dihedral, or arch, shape to catch more water and yield a powerful stroke with a smooth release
    • Carbon blend shaft material is the lightest weight shaft available for long, multi-day archipelago tours
    • Straight shaft minimizes weight and allows easy hand placement for versatile paddling techniques
    • Mid-sized blade fits most kayakers' size and aquatic ambitions
    • Item #WER0081

    Server Issue with Ferrule

Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

Once dirt gets stuck in this spline in the center of the paddle i have found it impossible to get it apart. Last time it was a year until i could get it apart.

    Great budget paddle

Nice, tough, lightweight and adjustable. What more could you want?

    Great budget friendly paddle

Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

This is my 4th tybee. These are my go to paddles for my duckies. They are comfortable to paddle with, very durable, and offer great value. The feather is very adjustable; I use 30 degrees for most paddling but turn it towards 90 when the wind is bad. We use them primarily for whitewater inflatabke kayaking, but also when we take the duckie on the lake.

    Great Adjustable Paddle

    Familiarity:I've used it several times

Very well made paddle that is light and rugged enough to haul on a backpack. The 220mm does well with my packraft, but I wouldn't go shorter for open water paddling. The adjustable feather is super solid and convenient. Does everything I ask of it.

How wide is the blade on this paddle?

how do you decide on paddle length?

how do you decide on paddle length?

Hey Cindy. You want your paddle to be 10-20cm taller than you. You can stand straight, lift your arm in the air, and the T-grip of the paddle should hit right at the crook of the wrist. I suggest to look at adjustable paddles which are nice to use if you have multiple paddlers.

Hi Cindy, There's more to it than just your height. The size paddle you get depends on several things... 1) What type of paddling do you intend to do? High angle or low angle? There is a huge difference between these 2 styles of paddling 2) Your height 3) The width of your boat 4) Are you mostly a recreational paddler or will you do a lot of touring or long distance kayaking? Anyway, this can all seem very confusing but it's really not as complicated as it seems. Go to Werner Paddles website & they have a Paddle Fit Guide that will really help. The paddle you get is almost as important as the kayak you select. If you get the right paddle that is suited to your needs based on the factors above, you will have a much more enjoyable experience on the water. Happy paddling!!

This product page seems to have a couple...

This product page seems to have a couple of mistakes. First, the photo is that of a Werner SKAGIT model, not the Tybee model. Second, the desciption states that the shaft is composed of a carbon blend, rather than fiberglass. Could you please correct the product info for this item, Backcountry web content staff? Thanks.

Hey Will, You are right about the photo and it should be updated soon, nice catch. However, I just looked at the paddles and they do indeed have a carbon blend shaft with fiberglass reinforced blades.
