When speed and power are mandatory.

It takes more than experience to keep you in the right line on a big red river. The Werner Sho-Gun Straight Shaft Carbon Paddle provides the power and smooth, river-slicing performance you need to accelerate out of eddies and shoot tight narrows with precision. The large, buoyant blade and straight shaft yield efficient strokes for demanding trips down any volume of water, while the fiberglass shaft and lightweight carbon blade keeps the Sho-Gun stiff, responsive, and powerful. Best of all, Werner reinforced the edges with a combination of Dynel and KEVLAR to protect the carbon blade from wear and tear intrinsic to whitewater kayaking.

    • Straight fiberglass shaft
    • Full carbon blade
    • Reinforced Dynel and KEVLAR blade edges
    • Dihedral blade shape

    Werner Carbon Fiber Sho-Gun/Stikine

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I just recently bought a Werner Carbon Fiber paddle. I have been paddling the powerhouse for years, and I will never paddle anything other than a Werner. The paddles are light, strong, and sturdy. My powerhouse is still in great shape after over 10 years of use. I am excited about my new paddle because it is even lighter, more sturdy, and the blade floats to the surface with ease when you are upside down and need to pop a roll. I also bought a 4 piece break down player, and I enjoy this paddle as well. I will be using it while I travel abroad as it is much easier to transport. I love Werner Paddles and would never paddle anything else!

    SHOGUN!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have used this paddle since 2013. It has been my go to for trips to Mexico, Dominican Republic, Colorado, California, Canada, Russia, & on my home rivers in North Carolina! I love the feel of this paddle in the water, excellent purchase without being too stiff. I've also found it to be more durable than fiberglass blades.
