Very comfortable

Haven’t used the bag yet but loading it up and walking around the house it feels more comfortable than I expected. The blow up back support is a wonderful idea. All I could hope for is a duffle or clamshell type opening just to ease fitting bigger things in.

It works well, although a bit odd design

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It works well, although a bit of an odd design takes some getting used to. This is a pack for very specific needs, such as traveling when you can't/ don't want to bring a backpack as piece of luggage (say, business travel or other luggage-restricted activities) but need one when you get there. The inflatable camera insert is a good idea, as is the inflatable back support, but these both take up a bit of room in the small backpack and this may or may not be a factor in whether you use them or not. I see this as a backpack for "city walking around" not for hiking. I've used it several times and it is comfortable to wear for a few hours.

2nd review after a year's use

At first I didn't like it for similar reasons as others: top pocket sinks down when loaded making bag odd shaped, inflatable back panel is not adequate for any purpose, etc. Oh and I still find the inflatable camera cube not useful. However, after adding a corrugated plastic panel to the back for support (lightweight, strong and minimal, which I store in my camera bag with my laptop. Oh and this also works well when I have to use my laptop in my actual lap to make a little extension for my mouse so multiple uses!) the bag has sufficient shape with the inflatable providing some padding, it works well as a walk-around at destination bag. I put a padded insert that also fits in my camera bag in the bottom and can carry 2 cameras with lenses if necessary, in comfort and ease. I have been amazed at how this very minimal bag holds up to that weight. The bag when empty can be put in its pouch but I most often roll it or just lay it flat over my camera gear. It seems to take up very little space and is a great size for a daily carry. I can also put my 13" laptop in side the mesh sleeve and even that extra weight is handled fine. Occasionally I put a small bag in the bottom of the bag with heavier stuff I might put in the top pocket, for balance and to avoid that collapsed down look/feel. It would be great to have a pocket on the bottom inside or out. The one thing that still feels a little awkward is the top/bottom orientation. I still pick it up as if the bottom is the top but the straps then make it obvious. Not sure what that's about. Bottom line is that I won't travel without this now and after nearly a year traveling in Africa, Mexico, New Zealand and Australia, it still looks practically new and I've used it almost every day!

EDC for overseas trip

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the pack to use as an EDC during an upcoming overseas trip, based on favorable reviews. It seems to be well constructed, with plenty of storage. I love the color. Having not actually used it, my only concern is how bulky it is when packed away. I'll report back after my trip on comfort and functionality; the 3's are placeholders, since I couldn't leave them blank.

Nice functionable pack

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I that this pack is somewhat compact when rolled into its carry pouch. It is lite. I like that it has many loops in front where you can attach carabiners. I like that it comes with an inflatable back support, although mine was sent without one but Wandrd made it right and sent me replacement right away. Great customer service.

Brilliant

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Precisely what I was looking for in planning a Europe trip. Wanted a packable day pack and the inflatable camera pouch is simply brilliant. They work together perfectly. I’m SO pleased.

Smart design, thoughtful features, good execution

I received this as a gift. This super light yet sturdy day pack is so intelligently designed, with an interesting shape profile, optional inflatability should you need added comfort, straps that rest lightly but appear capable of bearing a goodly amount of weight, and ability to fold up and use as a bring-along extra day pack. Features I also like a lot are i) a top compartment with a back-facing zipper (you control it, not someone behind you), ii) ability to secure the main side zipper so it can't be easily opened by someone else, iii) deep water bottle sleeve, iv) added loops, v) smaller central zipper and pocket. It's versatile, and straps and seams appear well sewn and reinforced. I have previously used a heavier, bulkier backpack for hikes etc. so this is a great alternative that I look forward to using extensively.

Very good, almost the perfect stash bag for local use in your one-bag carry travel

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Good- overall design is very smart. The asymmetrical placement of entry and bottle holder is a good thing-bottle holder stretches very well and has a secure strap. Its also very deep. - smaller-towards-the-bottom design is great for weight distribution-inflatable camera cube works well if you don't already have another camera bag insert. I found that my insert that i use on my larger bag (which hold lenses, etc) fit well too.-Its nice that they tried to make a back-support, since this is really the big difference between kids-and-casual backpacks and actual hikeable utility gear. Its a big ask for a packable bag. Its not very supportive, but a start.- The material felt mostly like that of a larger bag, except the straps.-The outer lashing ties, and all of the little extras (key clip, lip on outside pocket, zipper quality and clips) make this bag great. Not too many, and all are appreciated, even the ones i did not mention. Don't change those. The meh-the support: inflatable back support is a cushion but does nothing to provide structure. I was hunting for a solution: plastic inserts, rods, etc... using a tripod, i was able to make an ad-hoc support, and I think there could be telescopic rods to support (like the legs of a small tripod) and create the structure that the bag is lacking, and the design would be greatly improved.-the straps. I still think the self-inflating foam from a sleeping pad could make its way into a package backpack strap (wink wink) and create the volume and structure that is lacking.- the way the bag hangs is not good. Between the lack of structure, the attachment point of the straps and the top-biases load distribution, the bag wants to pull away and sag a bit. The bad-nothings 'bad'. I used this bag as my daily bag when traveling in cities. Could be a light hiker too. Doesnt like a lot of weight.I am a wilderness biologist and have been using all kinds of gear through international travel and completely off-the-grid conditions for years, this bag fits a need and is one of only a few that serve a purpose as a packable once-you-get-there city bag. Its not for big hikes, its not for your sole bag, its a compliment to a larger pack-out and its a fantastic one. All my gripes and suggestions are in hopes that the future products get even better :)

New daily backpack

It's great. I was always tempted to buy a packable backpack but I hated how flimsy they were. The inflatable skeleton that slips in to it's own sleeve is a brilliant idea. It really helps give the bag some structure even if it's empty or lightly loaded. Other features I really like: the water bottle sleeve, the main zipper access on the side, and the long shallow pocket right on the front. Very, very good design. Using it the first day was very easy and it became my daily backpack and kept me more organized within 2 days of owning it. Only complaint is that the inflatable camera cube is too big for my Olympus OMD EM1. I tried to pad it out with an extra shirt / my extra lens/ etc. but I couldn't get the right combo to make the camera sit properly

The perfect day pack.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this backpack. It's small, light, and fits perfectly in the top compartment of my main camera bag without taking up unnecessary space. It's a great day pack for when you only need one camera and some room for extra layers or snacks and is incredibly well thought out. The inflatable camera cube is protective and material is nice and durable. For something that folds up into a little pouch, it certainly doesn't feel cheap or flimsy.
