Search for perfect glasses is over!

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I've found my glasses finally! Bottom line: perfect optics, ideal fit (for me -- your mileage may vary). Now to the detail... Mineral glass results in crystal clear vision. Last year I experimented with plastic glasses (Zeal Sable) thinking that in 21st century, and for $150, even plastic optics will be perfect. Well, it seems to be true until you try to read -- especially smaller letters become slightly illegible. No such problem with Vuarnet! I also happen to like the brown tint, personal preference. Very strong polarization; at some point I had another similar Vuarnet at home (frame too small), I put them together rotated 90 degrees: almost complete darkness -- I was able to look straight to the Sun. The strong polarization does make a difference. The other pair I used to check polarization was a 1602 "cable car" Vuarnet, same glass. A gem of manufacturing, but I had to return it -- it was too small for me: please pay attention to size consulting the manufacturer's site. The current glasses are made "large" and they fit me like a glove. They block all light from above and the sides very well. At the same time there still is some air flow so they do not fog for me (like the Zeals did). They fold quite flat and come with elegant etui small and flat, travel friendly. So "large" did the trick for me. I think they are worth even their list price (if the size is right for you!). They are not cheap, but I cheaped out on the Zeals in 2019 and had to buy the Vuarnets anyway. Use my lesson and splurge on great glasses and be all set for a while.
