Go easy on yourself.
VP Components' VP ARC SL Cleats take the guesswork out of replacing three-bolt Shimano SPD-SL road cleats, making sure you mount your new ones in exactly the same position using an innovative two-part locking design. Once each piece of the cleat is in position, changing them out without disrupting your alignment is much simpler than tracing a one-piece design with a marker and then trying to match the outline. VP finishes the cleats with high-traction texturing added grip on the days you stop by the coffee shop mid-ride.

Short life, for no apparent benefit
- I've put it through the wringer
Same problem as previous review: after less than 200 miles, the cleats started to deform, making it difficult to clip in. And, they unexpectedly clip out (dangerous!). I squeezed almost 1,000 miles out of these, but should have tossed long ago - both left and right became too worn and unpredictable. For me, cleats normally wear out after years of walking on them, but these degraded from clipping in and out. Replaced with sturdier (simpler) Shimano cleats.

How bad can cleats be?
- I've used it several times
I purchased ISSI cleats for my Shimano road pedals and got about 200 miles out them (the ISSI cleats). There is a white plastic component in the toe and heel of the cleat that seems to be made out of a softer plastic which deformed easily causing the cleats to no longer catch and engage with the pedal. I didn't think that a cleat could be good or bad, it's just a hunk of plastic with no moving parts. However, these ISSI cleats enlightened me to how bad a cleat can be after just a few rides. Maybe these would be okay acceptable as an emergency extra set, but I suggest you look for another manufacturer for a quality product.

If the picture is correct, these are Shimano SPD-SL compatible, not Look.
