They are the sticks that go with my skis
- I've put it through the wringer
This product really makes my day on the mountain much better. It starts when I leave the car, and I put my long flat boards over my right shoulder, and hold these round sticks in my hand. I look super cool, as I give the "What's up?" nod to the bro with the cool stickers on the back of his Tacoma. I try to avoid eye contact with the family in the black Yukon Denali, they just wouldn't get these poles. When I finally get settled and stick my hard boots into the metal contraptions to help attach myself to the long flat boards, I use these short round sticks to help propel myself towards the liftline. As I push backwards on the sticks, my body is propelled forward. My forward movement is also aided by my skating motion. Once in the liftline, especially if its a bluebird Saturday, I stand around and wait. Normally, I would get very tired. However, I saw these racing kids in their POC helmets and goggles leaning against their own round sticks. Now, their round sticks are a bit different from mine, but I give it a try. I stick the pointy ends into the snow about a foot in front of my feet and lean forward until the handle end of my sticks are in my armpits. It works for a bit, but I'm still dreaming of warm maple syrup being poured over a big plate of pancakes and bacon. As the line moves, these sticks continue to help me move toward the chair, and my 3 (or 5) other new friends. We sit and make idle chit chat for a while, until we get to the top, At this point, my options are to turn 180 degrees around the bullwheel and go back down (seems silly) or push myself off the chair. I opt for the latter (ladder). Good thing I still have my round sticks. I use them once again to propel myself forward. I then rip it up. Also, just so you know... I'm probably the best skier on the mountain. I'm not sure how big of a role these round sticks have in that. If I could isolate variables and determine that these sticks made that happen, they'd get 5 stars. In the meantime, they're just ski poles. They do exactly what you'd expect them to do.
