Voile Slider Pins secure the slider track of your bindings to the splitboard in tour and ride modes. The lanyard is attached to your binding, so it doesn't get lost. Voile recommends carrying spares while in the backcountry. Options are compatible with regular Voile bindings, and Voile Light Rail Bindinds 2012 models and newer. Only comes with 1 pin

I've used it several times

Mistakenly assumed that this is a pair of pins. Only received 1. Also pin I received uses a rubber leash and not a wire one like in the photo. I kinda like that better actually. Pretty much all the other voile items come in pairs, so wish the description was more specific.

always carry an extra one of these!

Worst Product EVER !

I've put it through the wringer

Bought a couple of Light Rail Bindings and lost 3 pins in one season I eventually had to tie the strap directly to the binding instead of the inner lock system. After hitting one jump I ended up riding on one foot while the binding was still attached to my boots ! Forget about pins these thing are literally useless. Try anything else but these ... New Voile's, or Spark R&D and then sure there is Karakoram as well.

Mandatory for Splitboards using Voile

I've put it through the wringer

The Voile Slider Pin is a mandatory backcountry part that you should always carry extras of in you pack if you are using a Voile or older Spark R and D binding on your setup. Pins can easily break, get lost in the snow or freeze up. Buy a couple extra, carry them in your pack and always have a backup.

Don't get caught without it

I've put it through the wringer

Despite the light rail pins coming with an attached leash, I have always been concerned about the leash breaking or about me taking the leash off, dropping the pin in the snow, and poof... just like that I'm in a world of trouble. Thus I decided it was worth my while to pick up a spare and I couldn't be happier. Fortunately I haven't had to use my spare just yet, but I'm sure one of these days I will and will love knowing that I have an extra stowed in my pack. These really are small and essentially don't add any excess weight to your touring set up unless you are really counting grams. Definitely worth an extra few bucks to make sure you don't get caught up a creek without a paddle, or rather up a mountain without a snowboard.

As a follow up, I actually did end up losing a pin the other day when I was way out in the Backcountry and it saved the day to have an extra!

NOT accessories! Don't go out w/out em!

I've put it through the wringer

I'm taking 1 star off my rating ONLY because I learned through other reviews on the internet?not from Voile?that spare pins are as essential to the Light Rail bindings as a spare tire on your vehicle. It'd be nice if they tossed a couple extras in with the bindings. But no matter. Herewith, my review: My son rides a Voile split with the Light Rail bindings and in two full seasons of trees and drops, bowls, dawn patrols and several lengthy ascents has only broken 2 pins (both on the same run, I think). A more aggressive rider may go through them more quickly. I bought him 3 or 4 pair of the pins as stocking stuffers for the '14-15 season, because they're not easily found in retail stores. He keeps him in his backpack or parka, just in case. The product is durable and performs an essential function well. Anyone who rides the Voile light rail binding will be well advised to maintain a stock of these pins.
