Great for split boarding tours!

I've put it through the wringer

After reading lots of reviews about how good these are for split boarding, I decided to go with these poles. The all aluminum poles are very durable and the cam locks hold in place well - like other have said, you may need to use a screw driver to tighten prior to first use. The three piece design allows them to collapse small enough to strap on the outside of a pack for descents without sticking out above or below the pack. In my opinion, top sheet scrapper is pretty gimmicky and just gets in the way on the uphill. Good news is, it is easily removable like it was never even there.

Decent Ski Pole

I've used it several times

I had to tighten the fastening clasps with a screwdriver during my first use, but since then they have worked well. I'm 6'2 and at full extension the poles are more than long enough.

Great so far!

I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I've used this pole a few times while splitboarding and it has been great so far. They pack up small, are light and easy to collapse and seem durable. Would definitely recommend for any beginner splitboarder!

Great pole!

I've used it several times

I’ve used this pole several times in the backcountry both splitboarding and snowshoeing thus far this year. My only two gripes that make it not five stars was that I wish they folded up just a titch smaller, although they do fine attached to the outside of my pack , and I like another reviewer had some issues on ice with them. Granted it was pretty early season frozen crud, and they did well the rest of the tour.

Very nice all-around pole.

I've used it several times

I have used these poles for AT, Alpine skiing and snowshoeing. They worked well for all three. They feel very sturdy yet light. The locks are easy to open/close even with very thick gloves. I would recommend taking the scraper off the handle. It strikes me as a bit dangerous.

Great 3 Piece Poles

I've put it through the wringer

I've used these a handful of times and have had a pretty good experience with them. So far a little bit of ice has been the only thing stopping me from posting a five star review. These poles are definitely burly and give you a confident feel while your ascending and skinning up to the next line in the backcountry. It would be nice if they broke down a little bit more to fit in smaller packs, but a simple fix of tossing them on the outside of the pack does the job. OR you just carry them in your hand like a guide. I'd recommend them to split boarders and skiiers. Voile is a local company (down the street from us, actually) that knows how to make some quality gear and stand behind it. As far as valuable 3 piece poles go, these are awesome.

Backcountry Friendly

I've used it several times

Just picked a pair of these bad boys and got the opportunity to test the out in the tetons. Coming from a 2 peice pole this is a whole new world. They compact down pretty small to fit into my 35L pack. The build is really solid as the aluminum they make them out of is lightweight and strong. I felt really confident as well in the burley CamLock lockers making sure you have the correct length, and that doesnt change. For the splitboarders having a topsheet scraper on one side helps making sure your board is ready for skins. Everything on this pole is solid! If you have any questions on these poles or need some advice setting up your split feel free to reach out to my contact info below.
