Barzo G2.0 XC-Trail Tire

The Barzo G2.0 XC-Trail Tire from Vittoria allows you to crush those technical cross country courses at speed and lets you saddle up for mountain bike stage races without worrying about your tire choice. Using square profile knobs for both durability and stability, the tire grips a variety of trail surfaces all while keeping rolling resistance to a minimum. Its progressive sipe angles allow the tire to dig in even harder the further it's leaned over. It's simply a great all-around tire that covers most of your trail condition bases as both a front and rear tire.

read is important but it's only one ingredient that makes up a tire. Underneath those knobs is Vittoria's XC-Trail TLR casing made from nylon and sports 120 threads per inch. This casing is lightweight and boasts additional sidewall protection with an additional protection layer. Holding the tire onto the rim and forming an airtight Tubeless-Ready seal is its folding Aramid bead.

Vittoria owns the only extruder in the world that allows for 4 compounds in a single tread which it then fortifies with Graphene 2.0. This allows Vittoria to fine-tune the flex of the tread-base and tread-surface separately, placing the correct durometer Graphene 2.0 compound exactly where it is needed for maximum cornering, climbing, rolling, and braking performance. Additionally, durability and puncture protection is also improved, as the base compound resists punctures, and provides a more stable base for the tread.

Fast and grippy

Familiarity:
I've used it several times
Size Bought:
29x2.35

Makes my bike feel like a rocket ship that can still handle a corner. The amount of grip for the lack of rolling resistance is pretty impressive. I've had it out on several rides and I'm almost ashamed of the fact that this tire still looks nearly brand new, so it seems like it'll last a while as well.

Love these tires

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer
Size Bought:
29X2.35

I put a set of these tires on my YT Izzo, I think they are a good XC tire, light weight, fast rolling and they look nice with the grey side walls. I run them tubeless without any problems, I did notice on occasion they can wash out in hard cornering if you have the pressure too high, 15 to 18 psi seems to be the sweet spot for me. They now have over 200 miles on them and show very little wear.

Great Tire

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I am running a Barzo in the front, and a Mezcal in the back. I love the gray sidewalls, and the grip is very good (for an xc/trail tire). There is good rolling resistance, and the tread pattern is great for my riding. (I live near SLC, and ride primarily in that area.) When I converted them to tubeless, they went on super easy. I put a little sealant around the valve stems, and then blew them up. My air compressor wasn't working, so I just used a floor pump, and the blew up and sealed. Haven't had any problems with air or sealant leak, which is not normal for me. These are now my favorite Xc/Trail tire combo. Would recommend.

Conti CrossKings are better in every way

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Been on Cross Kings for about 6 years. Decided to try these since the Cross Kings are hard to find right now and these have a very similar tread. I like to run wider tires on my 29er and I ordered the 2.35 version of these, and mounted up on a 35mm internal width rim they measure 2.3". Cross Kings in the 2.3 size on the same rims actually measure 2.4". Weight difference is less than 5 grams between the two on my scale. Contis have a burlier sidewall, which is really important on a wider tire like this where you'll be running lower air pressure. About the only thing I like better about the Barzo is that they mount up easier than the Conti, but I'm happy to deal with a little off-the-bike downside for 100% on-the-bike upside with the Cross Kings. I'll wear these out while I wait for Cross Kings to become available again.
