    Great Wetsuit

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Large
    • Height: 5'10"
    • Weight: 175lbs

This wetsuit is awesome. I am 5'10 170-175 and was unsure of which size to get...I ended up going with a Large and it fits perfectly. I am of pretty muscular stature, so if you are a little more lanky, i think the size just below L would work perfect. It is super warm and extremely flexible. Hope this helps and backcountry did a great job with my order!

Plant Based Neoprene for the WIN!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium
    • Height: 5'9"
    • Weight: 140lbs

You know what they say, buy nice, or buy twice. After going through my fair share of suits, over the last decade I decided to bite the bullet and spend and little more upfront for a technologically advanced and eco-friendly suit.
This thing is WARM! Not too sealed like an Xcel dry lock, avoiding the painful suction cup phenomenon, but tight enough not to get flushed out every duck dive. Amazing stretch and overall comfort in regards to the neoprene, and a solid beefy chest zip. (Actually an upgrade from Xcel and 100x better than any Rip Curl P.O.S.) Been surfing in Northern New England my entire life and usually turn to a 5mm when the water drops into the low 50's, although I would still recommend a hooded 4/3mm at this temperature, this suit will keep you toasty enough to stay comfortable and nimble while you bob around between sets.

Great reinforced blind stitching, and taped seams. An overall solid wetsuit I hope to have for many seasons to come.

The only nitpicking detail I will mention is it takes a few sessions to break in the shoulders. Initially the stitching was a little tight. I'm 5'9" 140" with a 39" chest, and this suit was a little restricting when paddling. After 4 or 5 few hour sessions it seems to have loosened up however.

Would have given it 5 stars were it not for that minor detail.
