- Q & A
Can't believe how lucky I am
I was walking doesn't the street and FOUND this knife on the side of the road it was grimy and pretty much garbage so right as I went to chuck it into the woods I saw the swiss army logo on it and realized that these knives are meant to handle anything so I brought it home cleaned it up and lubed up all the "gears" and I have used it nonstop for the past four days and there is nothing that this knife can't do... If it could cook I may marry it hahah
good but not perfect
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Like other reviewers I really like this knife and keep it in my pack as a just in case emergency knife. The only thing that would make it better would be if the small blade were replaced with a pair of scissors...if you can live without the scissors it is an ideal knife.

- Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
My dad just recently lost his camper that he had for 20+ years, so i got him a new one. No reason why this one wont last 20 years as well. Great quality.
Victorinox Camper Swiss Army Knife
I got one of these off my buddy, and it is an awesome little tool. I leave it in my just in case dry-bag in the brain of my pack, but seem to use it frequently anyway. The saw is very effective at clearing out branches from a tight belay ledge, or smaller fall across a trail. The knife geometry is perfect so it seems sharp for a lot longer, with the thinner blade just slicin' and dicin'. The can opener is extremely effective, probably one of the best designs in multitools, as is the cap lifter. I love having the tweezers along with me, as pulling slivers is easily handled by them.
There are some things I don't like or feel are necessary on this tool though, the corkscrew being one of them. If I am at home and there needs to be a bottle opened, then home corkscrews are much more effective. And personally, I would never carry a glass bottle of wine into and then out of the bush to ever justify it. And the second, smaller blade. Again, a little useless for me, as the main blade takes care of pretty much anything.
This is the only knife i have never had to take care of. Its been around the world, used and abused and is almost as sharp as the day I bought it. Although I have a collection of Leathemans, This is the only corkscrew in the bunch!!! Highly recommended as an emergency survival knife.
I love this knife
This was the first knife I ever got when I was a kid, and it has lasted over fourteen years without a break. My Dad got several of these through a promotion at work, but it is the exact same style and brand. I have done stupid things with it, and it has not fallen apart, so it gets an A in my book.
The saw works great, as mentioned previously. The can opener is not bad, and I have even used it at home when I could not find my real one. I never could figure out how to use the wire stripper, but you really don't need it becaue the small blade works fine. The reamer is nice if you need to punch something tough, like leather of plastic and don't want to jack up your knife. Really, this package is hard to beat when you think of price, quality and durability.
Perfect All-Round, Everyday Use
I agree with Jeff on this one. I have had this knife for about 2 years now and its still lookin' like it came right out of the box. It is durable and the tools that are included can be used for anything. I use it at work, hiking, camping, biking, and skiing. The only thing that is wrong with it is that the toothpick/tweezers can get lost easily. I have lost my toothpick, but it was probably because of my stupidity.
For Everyday Use
Great tool with most everything you'll ever need. I've used the saw more than anything else & as long as you're cutting small pieces of wood, it works great. The tweezers work great on removing splinters. Taking everything into consideration, this is a minimal investment for such a useful, everyday tool.
