    Great boots, waterproof

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Size Bought: 5.0

I used these my first time in a rain storm while working in the mud. I needed the traction which is great and I can't tell you how many times I stepped in water and my feet were dry.

Exactly how I hoped they would perform

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size

I bought these shoes to hike the Appalachian Trail in comfort and style. Mission accomplished. The shoes fit true to size and were in "ready-to-hike" condition. My feet stayed in place and hugged the trails no matter how steep or slippery the ground. I have high arches and felt support in that area all 5 days I wore them. Also, my feet stayed warm and dry every day which matters so much to me. I loved how the laces stayed locked in place unless I wanted to get my shoes off and put them by the fire. These boots not only perform well for their intended purpose but they looked stylish while we shopped the stores downtown one afternoon. I know my husband wished he purchased the men's counterpart. I definitely recommend the Vasque Breeze 2.0. My hunt for a great hiking boot is over!

    Great boots... med-high in volume

Very well made - good kicks. Not much break in required... Just did a decent long weekend in the Eastern Sierra with my daughter - bought them for her. Its a soft boot upper so there is minimal break in. Waterproof liner seemed to work as her feet and socks stayed dry regardless of wet streams and lake shore antics.
Heads up - they are med/high volume so I carried a set of 5/16 irons with me just in case - glad I did as I needed to use them... but with them I dialed in her fit and we had miles and miles of blister free comfort.
Irons are a boot fitting tool - think "shim"... yes I'm a boot fit nerd.

    Great boots... med-high in volume

If my 7 year old is happy...

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Fit: True to size

...then I'm happy. We got these for our 7yo, who is super picky about his shoes. He gives them a big thumbs up, so we do, too. We bought them for hiking, but he likes to wear them any chance he gets.

Over the hills and through the woods

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size

Sitting in Terminal 1 at JFK I started to eevver so slightly panic. Okay I can't lie, MAYBE that is a bit of an understatement. Let's just say that even though I am a grown man, if I could have started crying to get my dad to rush in an save me - I TOTALLY would have. But let us not judge. How might I have found myself in this predicament? Or more importantly how does this even relate to kids boots? Don't worry, we'll get there, but I first must digress a bit further.

See the problem is, I have a bit of a stubborn streak. A year ago when my son (Kid #1) was all crying, and sniveling, and sad, as I left the house for 8 weeks of work in the wilderness of Mongolia, I got a BIT emo and promised that when he turned 5 I would take him with me.

Which leads us to JFK Terminal 1 - my son and I are waiting for our plane; it's all setting in, we are leaving and we are going to be gone a long time, we are going far far away, and mom and sister are not coming with. Kid #1 is starting to rethink his choices and it is SUPER evident on his face. The idea of movies, soda, and dude time has lost its magical appeal. He is bona fide SAD. And as before mentioned I am FREAKING OUT on the inside. Meanwhile, my wife (the loving sort that she is) has totally rebuffed my text requests to come save our son. I'm stuck. So as a last ditch effort I dig wayyy deep into my bag of parenting tricks and start up a random argument about his new Vasque (cool like a summer) Breeze 2.0 WP hiking boots.

    DAD: "You like your boots?"

KID #1: "Yeah I like my boots"

    DAD: You LOVE the boots?"

KID #1: "Yeah I LOOOVE the boots"

DAD: "You want me to take the boots back?"

    KID #1: "NOOOOO!"

DAD: "Here's the deal, I totally bought those AWESOME boots for Mongolia dude"

KID #1:"But dad [in whinny voice] I can wear them in the forest at home"

Dad: "Who takes you to the forest? Does mom take you to the forest? NOO, I take you to the forest! And I'm going to Mongolia!

    KID #1: ..........

KID #1:"........ Can I eat chips with my soda while wearing my boots and watching movies?"

DAD:" you gonna get on the plane with me?"

KID #1: "What about my chips?"

DAD: "Okay, you can have chips with your soda while wearing your boots and watching movies"

    KID #1: "CHEETOS?!"

At this point, even if these boots don't do anything else, they were already worth their weight in gold. Lucky for us the Vasque (cool like a summer) Breeze 2.0 WP Hiking boots lived up to the high expectations that were randomly placed on them.

I can not really give you much in the way of nuanced details about fit or feel. I have asked my son what he things, but let's be honest, sometimes he forgets what that feeling in his gut is. Then next thing you know we are DASHING to a bathroom in hopes of avoiding tragedy. I will say that the WP stands for waterproof and that is no lie. More than once I have been completely surprised to find dry socks. All in all these boots rock - heck just the other day we bedazzled them with half crampons and let him give ice climbing a try. Seriously they last and I can not wait to pass them down to Kid #2 and Kid #3.

A True Hiking Boot for the Jr. Partners!

Picked these up for the starting 5 year old in our group, and he hasn't taken them off! What a great shoe, very impressive being a solid, TRUE, hiking boot for kids; it's the adult shoe shrunk down. Great support, waterproof, traction, build quality.... what more can I say? Don't skimp on the Jr. partners and get these!

Best boots for the kiddo's, hands down! Great ankle support, tight lacing, waterproof, good traction, and built tough! Only wish they had more than one color style!
