Peace of Mind
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Used this once, for a six day high altitude backpacking trip. Watched a frustrated chipmunk chew at it for about five minutes before it gave up. Nary a mark. Looking forward to more trips with this worthy product. If you spend a lot of time in bear country, you might wanna choose a bear vault, but otherwise the Ursack does the trick. Make sure to tie it well, as lil rodents can squeeze through a keyhole. (I throttle tie it around the top.)

Great food storage !!!
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
Ursack is a great bear and critter proof bag. The sack has held up well for the many trips I have taken it on. The food sack is a great alternative to the heavy bear canisters. It does take a few times of playing around with the knots, once you get them down it is very simple, and hanging food from a tree is a breeze. This Kevlar sack is a nice addition to ultra-light backing weighing under 8oz. This sack can easily store between 4-5 days of food nice and easy, depending on your backpacking food choices. Pros: Very Strong Weight IGBC-certified Cons: Not odor proof Not water proof Accessibility, having to untie knots when you need to get something out Not National Parks rated for bear canisters

So far, still there.
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
Admit it, you hate bear canisters and having rodents eat your snacks. So far I can't tell if anything has even tried getting into it. Its light and has a supple smooth fabric that feels amazingly strong. I was able to stash my 4 bagels, jars of PB, 2 bananas, coffee, 4 bars, toothpaste\brush inside no problem. Despite hearing and seeing small critters running around, I can't tell if any even tried to get into the Ursack. I could have gone with the smaller one as most of my trips are solo but the size doesn't matter much. FYI, I don't live in bear country and probably would not depend on the Ursack as my sole means of food protection if I were to travel there.

Love this!
Love this item. Havent had an experiences with bears trying to get in it yet but its lightweight for backpacking and pretty easy to secure to a tree. I hung it in a rain storm and none of my food got wet. Highly recommend!
